    The Nashville Predators have acquired defenseman Shane O'Brien and forward Dan Gendur from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for defenseman Ryan Parent and Jonas Andersson.

    O'Brien, 27, had been placed on waivers by the Canucks this week. He's earning $1.6 million this season and will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

    Parent, 23, is earning $850,000 this season and has another year on his deal, which will pay him $1 million in 2011-12. The Canucks, after acquiring him from the Predators, placed him on waivers.
