St. John's freshman guard Rysheed Jordan was suspended for Friday night's game versus Monmouth for a violation of team rules. The suspension was announced by the school less than two hours before tipoff. "We have high expectations for all of our student-athletes at St. John's," coach Steve Lavin said in a statement released by the school. "We are hopeful that moving forward Rysheed will be able to meet his responsibilities and be able to rejoin our team on the court."
