By Bryan Hoch / MLB.com NEW YORK -- CC Sabathia served up a pair of Jason Bay homers and exited on the losing end as the Yankees dropped a 6-4 decision to the Mets on Sunday, concluding the first half of this year's Subway Series. Bay broke out of his season-long power drought with just his second and third home runs of the season, crushing a two-run shot to left in the second inning and a solo blast in the fifth inning that landed in the Mets' bullpen. Sabathia also allowed a two-run single to Alex Cora in the Mets' four-run fourth -- a frame that featured a throwing error by left fielder Kevin Russo -- and surrendered a fifth-inning RBI double to David Wright. The burly left-hander was charged with six runs (five earned) on 10 hits, walking two and striking out six. He is winless in his past four starts, having lost twice. The Yankees' slumbering bats endured another peaceful night, silenced by a very sharp Johan Santana. The Mets' ace limited the Yanks to six hits in 7 2/3 innings, walking three and striking out five. The Yankees' first run came in the seventh, as Santana snapped a string of 13 straight batters retired with a walk to Nick Swisher. Fellow Venezuelan Francisco Cervelli followed with a ball that hit the orange stripe atop the left-field wall, and after a video review by the umpires, the play was ruled an RBI single. Both benches were warned in the sixth inning after Yankees reliever Sergio Mitre hit Bay in the back with a 75-mph curveball.
