Because they have sucked for so long, they have had a ton of high draft picks. There isn't enough room on their team for players to win jobs. Basically, they will start to lose value if they don't make a significant deal. I would guess they are looking for a top 4 righty defenseman and a top wing to play with Thompson. That would be my guess. The mix they have there isn't working. Despite giving him a new contract, I don't know if they are sold on their goalie either.
