Brandon Meriweather has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Washington Redskins, according to a team source. The team wanted to upgrade the safety position, but their first move at the position was to bring back one of their own. Meriweather, who received lots of attention -- and fines -- for his hits, started 13 games this past season at both free and strong safety. He's typically been better at strong safety, but the Redskins like their safeties to be able to play both positions.
