This year for the first time I'm trying a league where there's a salary cap and you buy your players. 2 QB's 2 RB 2WR 1 D Anyone got any advice what the best way is to spend the money and on which positions spend less

Try to spread out the cash as much as possible and avoid Marquee players. For example, if you're going to spend $50 on Larry Johnson or Shaun Alexander, you'd be better off getting two solid players...like Steven Jackson and Anquan Boldin for $50 instead.

Also, get the cheapest kicker you can and don't splurge on a defense unless your scoring system gives defenses ridiculous points.

Also, look for cheap players with big upside. Like Troy Williamson in Minnesota or Vernon Davis in San Fran.

Thanks PA. I'm guessing GB Defence will be a good bargain. Taking a chance on some rookies, Bush and Williams in Car

This is what my salary cap team looks like:
    QB-D. Culpepper
    RB-C. Williams
    RB-L. Tomlinson
    WR-L. Fitzgerald
    WR- T. Houshmandzadeh
    WR-J. Walker
    TE-A. Gates
    K- R. Longwell
    DEF-Baltimore

...As a bonus I have 1.8 under the cap
