A November rematch between WBO featherweight champion Orlando Salido (35-11-2, 23 KO’s) and Juan Manuel Lopez (30-1, 27 KO’s) and World Boxing Organization super bantamweight champion Jorge Arce (57-6-2, 44 KO’s) and Wildredo Vazquez (20-1, 17 KO’s) are a possibility, according to Dan Rafael. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum is looking to set up these rematches for one huge card on Showtime. If Arum can pull this off it would be one of the best cards of the year. The only question is where the fight would take place. I’d hate to see it wind up in Peurto Rico instead of Las Vegas, Nevada. It will be a much better fight if it can be local so that boxing writers can get to it without having to take an incredibly long plane flight all the way to Puerto Rico. Besides that, Salido is now the featherweight champion, not Lopez, so the fight shouldn’t be taking place in Puerto Rico again. The same goes for Vazquez Jr. He’s no longer the WBO super bantamweight champion after getting stopped in the 12th round by Arce in May. Arce wore Vazquez down and had him out on his feet in the 12th at the time of the stoppage. Read more: http://www.boxingnews24.com/2011/06...possible-for-november-on-showtime/#more-69984
