12/7/1941 was named a Day of Infamy by President Roosevelt. Were my father still with us he'd have beeb 99 years old. On 12/7/1941 he was a then 19 tear old sailor aboard the Destrooyer USS Reid getting ready to come off of the 4 to 8 watch. The American Military and Civilian Personnel who survived that engagement are now few in number after once being the spearhead of a Country that supplied all of its Allies and won a war against two nations who at the time were years ahead in Military Preparedness. They were a Special Group on on te Anniversary of that attack I salute all those who survived.
