Interesting article about Green Bay's Samkon Gado:

Apparently he's studying to be a Doctor so he can return to Nigeria and help the people there. He spent this off season volunteering and doing Nurse's Aid work in a hospital.

    Very cool...

Why can't TO learn from people like him? I'd LOVE to be a doctor operating on TO, lol.

You know my friend brought up a good point with the Pack. It's like their passing the torch in RB's.

Bennet - Levens - Green - Gado perhaps..

I really like Gado and with Green out until late August (apparently still recovering) It looks like Gado is going to see most of the 1st team action in practice this off season. I hope he makes the most of it.

I just wish that the Lions hadn't taken Brian Calhoun one pick before Green Bay in the draft. I really felt that would have been a nice pickup and would have eased a lot of my fears about Green Bay's running game this year.

I hope Green recovers fully and that the Green/Gado combo can be what the Green/Davenport combo was three years ago.

Yeah Caulhon would've been a nice 3rd down back this year. I actually think he'll end up starting in Detroit as soon as Kevin Jones gets hurt again which is a tradition for him anyways.

Backs to Gado though.. I've read reports he looks good. I also heard McCarthy is going to use the backfield by committee. Gado and Green in the first half and if we're up in the 4th quarter, Davenport comes in and cleans up.

    If they're healthy that's a deep backfield.

Samkon is a FANTASTIC story! I love this guy. His Dad is a missionary. It's not realistic to expect NFL players who grow up without fathers to turn out like Samkon Gado. There are exceptions like Heinz Ward, but his Mother is out of this world.

I was in Green Bay today. My wife took a position with the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic. We looked at a pretty cool hobby farm 36 miles north in Pensaukee. Some beautiful homes near the clinic though ... tough choices ahead.

I hate to say it ... but I'd let my son wear a Samkon Gado jersey!
