I think LA would like the 49ers the most, and with the NFL pushing teams for LA, i think the 49ers will end up there. The Los Angles 49ers doesnt sound that bad.
I'd be surprised if they kept the nickname 49ers...that is sort of a nickname that is pertinent only in San Francisco.
The 49ers moving would be bad for football. It just doesn't seem right considering the 49ers have a winning tradition and might be the Super Bowl Team of Super Bowl teams (if that makes sense)
Santa Clara is a suberb of San Jose, so it would likely be the San Jose 49ers, or the California 49ers....the Oakland A's are close to moving to Fremont, another suberb of San Jose, so that city is on the verge of becoming a major sports town....

Fremont is in Alameda County... if memory serves. FWIW, The Miami Dolphins have their HQ, training facilities, & play their games in Broward County which is to the immeadiate north of Miami-Dade Co.
They will keep the name San Francisco 49ers since Santa Clara is in the same area. It's essentially the same thing that is done by the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys haven't played in Dallas in decades. They play in Irving now and will play in Arlington in a couple of years.

The Giants and 49ers own the territorial rights in and near San Jose, so the A's could never identify themselves that way even if they wanted to. Same thing goes for the Raiders, they would be blocked from claiming San Jose if they thought about moving there (which has already come up). Fremont is at the southern-most point of Alameda county (Oakland), this is as far away as the A's can move and still be called the Oakland A's. As far as San Jose becoming a major sports town, it's not likely to be much different. The three cities, SF, SJ, and Oak are all very close to each other and accessible to one another. I don't think that any demographics will change - the exact same people who attend all the current venues will likely be the ones attending the new ones. It's just a matter of driving 10 minutes south, rather than 10 minutes north. Will it be easier for 49er season ticket holders living in San Jose to go to games now? Sure. The reasons (or lack thereof) for J. York to flee San Francisco are flimsy at best. The Yorks did very little as far as negotiating with the City, and SF was reluctant to just write them a blank check for whatever they asked for.

good thing they are keeping the name San Francisco that would be a shame if they changed their name. Name aside it'll probably be a good thing for both the 49ers and the A's since apparently (i've never been there) the stadiums they are playing in right now are garbage and the stadiums they are planning to move into would be ridiculously high tech
Actually, the Niners have faired well at Candlestick this season..And, there is so much history...I wish we would just renovate it...
