RHP - Masahiro Tanaka (3-1, 2.76 ERA) VS. RHP Justin Verlander (5-5, 3.97 ERA) Lineups to follow.......
...seems like a good pitching match up...having said that, as crazy as this game is, it wouldn't surprise me if both pitchers are knocked out early.
'14 ALDS, Tigers ride in with the big three, Scherzer, Price, and Verlander, ride out with tails between their legs, yep, it can be a funny game.
TONIGHT'S STARTING LINEUP....... CF - Ellsbury (287) LF - Gardner (262) RF - Beltran (286) DH - Rodriquez (217) C - McCann (227) 2B - Castro (258) SS - Gregorius (269) 3B - Headley (239) 1B - Refsnyder (185) GO YANKEES!!!
Last start he was leaving his pitches up and fastballs 89mph. You usually can get an early read on his stuff in the first inning or two. If his splitter hangs and/or his fastball is lackluster, they remain throughout and he has to struggle along.
Kinsler and Verlander owned the Yankees tonight. Will have another tough match-up tomorrow on Old Timers Day. Fulmer has a 22 2/3 scoreless streak going.
Old Buddies Greene & Wilson take out their former team mates bottom 8. But no worry the Astros took out Archer & Tampa Bay this evening so the Yankees are still not in the cellar.
Yanks are being dragged down having this marshmallow in the lineup and on the field day after day....and the freekin guy doesn't miss time with injuries- just what they needed, a durable 3b with a weak BA, and hardly any power. He has 12 RBI- playing everyday. Day after day after day. I thought Headley would do much better for the Yanks playing his home games at the Stadium and no longer at Petco Park. The guy is not only terrible, he has also been the most consistently bad "everyday" player on this team since he signed his contract.
