For a pitcher considered the padres 16th prospect. . Nice get cash. Had to hurry so they could open up a spot on the 40 for mr.220 old man river gardner. ! And oh yeah, starting early with the pitchers as German to the 60 day ILwith a shoulder injury. Should have put voit with a prospect or 2 for one of those Oakland starters
I keep hearing on the probability of inuries due to a late and short Spring Training. The fuck wads on both sides of negotiations shoulld have thought about that but to their credit tthe blame line has been set. At the time the trde was announced they did not mention who the Yankees got back but I was damn glad Voit was dealt.
Now, who am I going to bash on Trashman’s Yankees? But am I glad I won’t have to watch a cement glove playing first base!
Not only frees up a roster spot, but also frees up $5.25 Mil in payroll. The pitcher we got back (Justin Lange) had a 6.95 ERA last year but is only 20 years old and some of his peripheral stats show some promise. Though he averages walking over 6 per 9 innings he also averages striking out nearly 12 per 9 innings and had a BAA of only .217...at 6'4" and 20 years old, who knows, maybe he'll be a diamond in the rough. https://www.mlb.com/player/justin-lange-694367?stats=career-r-pitching-minors&year=2022 Needless to say, I'm happy with the deal...but I don't think the Yanx should now stand pat...more moves to come.
Good riddance. Do the Padres not know they're getting a cement glove, or will they use them as a DH more than likely.
