Ok well I had a good Spanish teacher, but my program ended up being changed and now I have a new teacher.

I was in my original teacher's class for about a month, and now with the change I have been in my new teacher's class for 2 days so far.

Now the problem is this teacher is the worst. She acts as if we have been studying Spanish for 10 years. Now I'm not really good in Spanish which makes it a whole lot worse for me.
She severely reduces your grade if you don't participate and it doesn't matter to her if you don't know the answer to the question. At the rate that I am going, it's look like I'm might fail her class or barely pass and I can't stand having her for 2 more marking periods.

Now I want to get my schedule changed and hopefully get a new teacher, but some of my friends said they won't change it for that reason. I will request a change but if that doesn't work out, I have no other ideas.

Now I know some of you might say tell me to suck it up and get on with the class, but this is not an option.

So I would really appreciate some help from you guys.

PS I have been with her for 2 days and I hate her already. That really doesn't say much about her since I have never hated any teacher before.

Biggest thing you can do is talk to her after class or something. That way she knows that you actually care about your grades and will at least acknowledge your complaint. Is your Spanish that bad?

She's not the kind of teacher that you can reason with. It will just be a waste of time.

    And yes it's pretty bad.

Well, what's the harm in trying? It'll only take like 5 mins. anyway and you want to make sure that all options are exhausted before you try and switch. Trust me man, my mom's a teacher and she always thinks like that. Most teacher's don't give a crap if you don't show initiative.

    Hola Senor! Come te llammas?

Just talk to a councilor or the principal. Get out of her class. You don't need to waste your time if the teacher is like that.

Yea I guess I'll try that. It might not work but at this point, I really don't have much options.

    Thanks.[IMG]

Agree with Chutney you've got to try to talk to her, even if she rejects you and acts like an ass. Usually going to talk to teachers on your own time lets the teacher know you're trying to do well instead of being disinterested. Also if you still want to switch classes then when you go to your counselor you can say that you've already talked with her and she's inflexible because he's likely to try to have you resolve it before you switch classes.

arse kissing goes a long ways as the other members have suggested. although, if your in the earlier grades, i think u should hang tough cause it enhances your spanish, then helps u build better work discipline and most importantly, it helps u cooperate or at the very least tolerate a taskmaster like your spanish teacher. straight up- when u start working your going to have some nazi like bosses and u can't asked to be assigned to a different boss. good luck!!!

That's another good idea. I'll try it tomorrow if I get the chance.

If a teacher won't help you then this is a poor teacher. I would ask for help from the teacher and if she says no then request for a transfer out of her classroom. Your grades do not need to be brought down because of a lazy person that doesn't want to do what they're being paid to do.

Well I attempted to talk to her butshe didn't have much time for me. I told her it would take only a min, but she told me she has a class to run. And that was the end of it.

I also attempted to transfer out but I was denied. Damn, this really sucks. Her grades will really hurt my average.

I failed Grade 10 Math :[IMG] but I got 79 or something in summer school to make up for it. Now the closest I've gotten to failing (aside from Chem in which I got a 66) has been 80-something. Praying to God I get into York.

If you're applying for a basic undergraduate in Philosophy or something like that, don't stress yourself too much. Anything above 80% will pretty much get you in. I remember they were the first uni to send me an acceptance letter (hope this doesn't make you slack off a lot).

dude, york accepts everyone. i had a buddy of mine who got into their business admin. program and honest to god, he couldn't read and write properly. although, he left after his first year, so just like any other university they streamline u (pick apart the competent from the mentally handicapped) once u enter.

Well it seems that my Spanish teacher kinda likes me. She uses me as example for other students "He has been here for only a week and he is working harder than you" etc. Of course her work is still hard and I get so embarrassed when I get something wrong.

Also from what I heard from her, she is going to fail for the first marking period because I haven't been their long enough. If this is the case then I am going to complain to my guidance counselor or someone. I mean it isn't my fault, they transferred me near the end of the marking period. I'm really going to raise hell.

See now you got a legitimate case against her. She knows you've put forth the effort and she doesn't have any complaints against you. Any disadvantages you've had in this course have resulted from her inability to reach out to you. Good luck with it, man.
