The Capitals are coming to town with Alex Ovechkin who leads his team in goals (22), as well as points (31). My question is this, why is it so hard for this team to put the puck in the back of the net? Year after year they have a habit of making to many mediocre goalies look like All Stars. For Brad Richard's to lead this team in goals is beyond rediculous. I'm glad he's got 9, but somebody needs to be in double figures as a goal scorer by now. Where does it start? On the defense. MDZ needs to be playing, trade Girardi (while you can still get someone for him) and bring up McIlrath. I'm tired of watching Girardi dropping down to block a shot, only to be beaten defensively because he wasn't on his feet. If possible, get a veteran defender (with a shot) in here to show the young guys how it's done. I don't know what the plan is for MDZ, but either way he needs to play. I'm just sick and tired of watching this team play, and hoping that 2 or 3 goals (when they are fortunate to get 2 or 3 goals) will be enough to pick up 2 points. They move the puck better, but they still need to get players to the front of the goal, and have the defense pound away.
