The head coach of La Roche College's men's basketball team died after collapsing at practice, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Saturday.

The team's head trainer rushed to perform CPR after Scott Lang fell on the main court in the school's Kerr Fitness and Sports Center around 5 p.m. Friday.

The 41-year-old was taken to the city's UPMC Passavant hospital, but could not be saved.

All of the school's weekend games against Penn State-Behrend were canceled along with an alumni event, the paper reported.

La Roche athletic director Jim Tinkey praised Lang for his work at the Division III school, saying, "His work ethic was always second to none."
