<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When Scottie Pippen took the Berto Center court after practice Monday, Bulls operations chief John Paxson told Pippen his latest project would be to work with newly acquired point guard Jannero Pargo.

Such tutoring appears to be all that remains in Pippen's Hall of Fame career.

With 16 games left, Pippen confirmed he probably won't play again this season, and he already has acknowledged there is almost no chance he'll play next season. All that's left is a news conference to officially announce the end of a career that spanned 17 seasons and included six championships.

"I'd like to play once more to say goodbye to the game at this level,'' Pippen said. "But I don't think I can go anymore. I want to, but I don't think I can.'' </div> More here.

man pippen has lead an amazing career, my favorite all-time player. i was hoping that pippen this year would lead the bulls to the playoffs and to the finals (okay maybe that's a bit of a stretch), but scottie retiring is sad. Scottie Pippen is a great defensive player and hopefully he will play at least one more game. Maybe Air Jordan and him can come back to the bulls next year, another comeback for jordan, okay now i am just babbling, and no i'm not high. Pippen in the Hall of Fame? of course. Bill Cartwright in the Hall of Fame? No, but maybe...I don't know why i said that, but i loved cartwright's face expressions has a coach, he always looked angry, yet funny.

Pippen's career has been over for a few years, he still had a great career though. However Any guy that's been on MJ's team normally does.

over for years? what the hell have you been smoking man, he was a key player on the blazers that almost beat the lakers in the seventh game (They should have won that) and after that he still put up decent numbers. If you mean this year, then yes his career is basically over, but when he was on the blazers, pippen was still blazing

That was over 4 years ago, he had a very good season on a very talented team that went 10 deep. You do know what the word "few" means, right? he has had injury problems the last two seasons and hasn't been anywhere near the player he used to be. Hasn't played a full season since the year 2000. He should of retired at the end of the last season It's was clear to me he wasn't going to play even 20 games this year. His back and knee troubles wouldn't allow it.

Sad to see the guy go. I think it's a good idea for him to play one last game. Kinda like a farewell game for himself.

Its sad that Scottie wont get to go out with the fan fare like David Robinson & some off the other great players that recently retired. But Scottie Pippen impact on the game is truely unappreaciated by many. All-Stars that came after him like Grant Hill, Penny Hardaway remind me alot more of Scottie Pippen than MJ.

Scottie is one of the best All-around players ever. Most of the things he did on the court dont really show up on stat sheets like the way he defended or the type of Floor Leader he became later in his career.

I grew up during the Bulls era, And him/MJ & the rest of them cats provided the basketball world with plenty of memories & Battles. From their Battles with the Pistons in the late 80's/early 90's to their last chip vs Utah in '98. So I just say much respect to Scottie Pippen.

The Bulls should do him right & have some type of front office or coaching position waiting for him when the retirement becomes official.

I'm sure there's something for him. If I can remember it correctly, it was one of the reasons why he went back to Chicago.

Pip had a great impact on the Blazers of last season. Even though his stats weren't huge his leadership and experience paid off huge for 'em. Sad to see him go. I loved his game. Under rated is an understatement.

Peeps seem to forget that the years MJ was considered the best on the planet Pippen was considered #2. He was that good. He had the ability to have a huge impact on the game w/o touching the ball and only the truly great can say that.

Without Pip I doubt we got the final, polished MJ that we ended up with. Money credited his play to the many epic battles in practice against Pip and his all-world D. Same can be said inversely as well. These two cats relied more on each other than most Jordan fans care to admit.

This is sad, Pippen was an amazing player. He doesn't get as much credit as he should. At least he can give his knowledge and what he learned from his experiences to this young bulls team.

Hey smart guy, Paxson knew that Pip likely wouldn't last the season up front. It's been reported that Pippen won't even make the Bulls pay him the second year of the deal anyway. Paxson brought Pippen in as a leader and mentor, jobs he can still do off the court, and which he'll expand upon next year.

I hope Pip gets a job similar to what Chris Mullin has in GState. Kind of like an assistant GM, a front office utility guy. And if/when Skiles' term ends, I think Pippen would be a great coach for the team.

Great player as we all know. But I thought he was gonna retire awhile ago. He is a great player, but when I seen him play against Kobe when he was with Houston. Kobe shut him down and everytime I watched him play on NBC, he struggled except for that 40 point game he had with MJ. And I missed it, geesh. But anyways, Pip came from a small school and BLEW UP. Barkley isn't mad at you know more and I'm not either. Congrats on a glorious career.
