Ok, the Steelers won, but it was the least impressive win in Super Bowl history. The goddamn refs won it for them there were four very objectionable calls: 1. Rothlisberger pulling the ball over the end zone after he was down; clearly he was stopped and down before the ball was in there. 2. Pass interference call against the Seahawks. DJ just touched him -- he didn't shove him or anything and the refs screwed the Seahawks a TD. 3. Illegal block below the waist on Hasslebeck. IT WAS A F***ING TACKLE FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!!! 4. Out of bounds call, the WR's foot clearly got in end zone territory. IMO this game is proof that east coast bias exist. Super Bowl Extra Large? More like Extra Lame.
1 Ball did cross because he was in the air when he hit the ground and it went over white line...no indesputable evidence as well...and it only brought up 4th down...which they would have gone for and gotten 2 the most questionable call ide say...not a very good one ill admit... 3 that one wasnt that good either but it really could have been tripping when he hit the guy next to the ball carrier... 4 least questionable...what are you...blind? one foot in (right)...one foot out (left) you fail to recognize we sucked as bad as possible...and we still won thats the glory of it...you guys could not capitalize on jack...you guys had so many opps close up...oh yeah i gave Josh Brown $30 to miss the field goals...let's remember you said the game was no question win in your mind...well you lost, to a steelers team which had a peg leg and two black eyes and we WON...the all powerful offensive Seattle was beat to a bloody pulp by yourselves...why dont you complain about Testiverde some more?

Refs did screw the Seahawks which is bad but not calling flags on the Steelers too is just horrible like the delay of game penalty that should've been called.

C'mon. I'll admit that there were some questionable calls. The Roth TD would not have been overturned if it was not called a TD, but I also don't think you can overturn the TD - it was probably as close as you can get to a questionable scoring play. The pass interference call I actually agree with, although I agree it was generally a weak looking play. In the end Seattle had its opportunities and did not take them. They have no one to blame but themselves. Give a little respect to the Steelers - they made plays when it counted.
1. Was a TD. 2. Was Pass Interference. He pushed off right in front of the ref. 3. Wouldn't have happened if Hasselbeck doesn't throw pick. 4. Wasn't in bounds. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Cowher&Frown Co.)</div><div class='quotemain'>1 Ball did cross because he was in the air when he hit the ground and it went over white line</div> Ball did not cross. B-roth moved the ball a good 9 to 12 inches after he was on the ground. Hawk, you forgot my personal fave. Illegal motion on Alexander who was 8 yds of the LOS. Bottom line; Pittsburgh needed alot of help to win & they got it.

The bottom line is the Seahawks couldn't make plays, so they have to make excuses. Stop crying about the Roethlisberger touchdown because the Seahawks never should have let him get that close to the goal line to begin with. (For the record, I thought he broke the plane while he was in the air before contact was made.) Stop crying about the pass interference because the ref was calling it like he saw it. It was pass interference. WR's aren't allowed to push off on defenders to create seperation. Okay, I'll give you a little grumble about the penalty on the Hasselbeck tackle. Stop crying about the out of bounds call. This is the NFL. You have to get both feet inbounds in this league. The east coast bias crap is just an excuse mutating into an urban legend. I guess the Seahawks would have won if a gator hadn't crawled out of Mike Holmgren's toilet and eaten his gameplan. I don't think middle school girls cried this much when NSync broke up.

The Refs have been bad all year. I expected this but as bas as they were all year long there was nothing neither team couldn't overcome. Seattle blew it. Plain as that.
I personally find it HIGHLY ironic that the Steelers, just 1 month ago, had to overcome probably the WORST officiated game in playoff history when they played against Indianapolis. Even the NFL admitted that they screwed up. Yet what happened in that game? Pittsburgh took care of their own opportunities and minimized their mistakes. The result? They won. DD is right - Seattle has no right to complain. MAYBE if Jeremy Stevens doesn't drop 5 passes, Hasselback doesn't throw a crucial INT, the WR does not push off (whether or not it was severe is not the point - he created seperation by holding back the defender), and Seattle actually plays like they have the MVP of the league - then, and only then, can the game come down to the refs. The problem is, Seattle had way too many chances to win to blame the loss on the refs. Who won the game? The Steelers. Why? Because they had a good gameplan, played as a team, and made plays when it counted.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Steelerfan_2005)</div><div class='quotemain'>I love to see the reasonability is growing.</div> Hey now, I've been saying since the end of the game that the Steelers deserved the win. I acknowledged the media bias - but not a ref bias.
The Holding that Shaun Locklear had really shifted the momentum. The Seahawks probly would have won if it werent for that call
i agree i've said it before sure there were bad calls but the Steelers made more plays and the Seahawks screwed themselves over no matter how you look at it

Your team isn't getting respect now and never will. -- they don't deserve it.
Ok, for all you people that think the Seahawks lost because they made mistakes let me say this: Most people do think that the officials screwed up in the Super Bowl now the Pass Interference call was considered a bad call ok, so if the refs were good then that would be a touchdown so Seahawks 17, Steelers 21. Then you got the penalty against Locklear that screwed the Seahawks a touchdown which was also considered a bad call so if the refs weren?t bad, the final score would be Seahawks 24, Steelers 21 therefore the refs DID screw the Seahawks a title -- not the mistakes and when you are talking about the Seahawks making mistakes, I never see Pittsburgh in your posts. The Steelers got NO first downs in the first quarter. Bettis: Sucked. No wonder he's retiring. Ward: New record on worst MVP. Rothlisberger: 2 INT's so don't talk about the Seahawks losing because they sucked. So we sucked, they sucked and the refs won it for them. Also, someone used the word "fact" to defend against my opinion but that word is irrelevant for this -- the refs could be like holding, 10 yard penalty? Were just gonna give them a TD and they could still be called good refs. Just my opinion (don't start crap someone...)
