<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW YORK, May 22, 2007 --- The New York Knicks 2006-2007 season was marked with numerous highs and lows, and stories being told both on and off the court. In the first of a two part series, the Knicks take a look at some of the common themes that have defined the past season.

The New York Knickerbockers marked their 61st season as a charter member of the NBA with a 33-49 (.402) regular season mark...Knicks finished fourth in the Atlantic Division, 14 games behind division champion Toronto, and failed to qualify for the NBA Playoffs.

The Record (33-49): Knicks’ win total (33) represented a 10-game improvement from the previous season, as the Knicks were one of only five NBA teams to register an increase of at least 10 games in the win column in 2006-07 (along with Toronto, Houston, Portland & Utah)...Among all Eastern Conference teams, only Toronto (+20) recorded a bigger improvement than the Knicks...Knicks’ 10-win improvement was their best over two full seasons since 1995-96 and 1996-97, when they went from 47 to 57 wins...Knicks were mathematically eliminated from the Eastern Conference Playoff race on Apr. 13 (Game No. 79), with a 100-86 loss at New Jersey...Knicks went just 9-17 in their first 26 games (Nov. 1-Dec. 26), then ripped off 20 wins in their next 37 games (Dec. 18-Mar. 10) to climb into the East’s eighth spot with a 29-34 record following a last-second, 90-89 win at Washington on Mar. 10...Knicks then lost 15 of their last 19 games (Mar. 14-Apr. 18) to fall out of Playoff contention.</div>

Who the **** cares about that ****... every year the same article we need to change something !!!! Without O'neal or KG on our roster's I don't see us making any progress from this year. Thats basically it KG/O'neal will save our franchise and will keep Isiah as GM and Coach for few more seasons. It's up to him now if he wants to run the thing a bit longer, or another season like this one will happen.... and I would be really pissed!!!! He better make something happend fast! I'm tierd of his lame **** every year!

This frachise is not lost... They almost made the playoffs with a bunch of players injured. With the east getting better, it will be harder for them to make it next year. But, the Knicks to have young players as well. Which means they are not lost. Its very unlikeley that the team will add KG or JO this summer. They should should make some smart trades and create some chemistry in the team.

Marbury isn't that kid anymore who can carry us to a win! Crawford most of the time gets hot when the game is over!!! Curry is just lame buttery meat who with 6'11'' frame can't block a 5'11'' guy. Knicks suck ! We don't have a leader on our team! Without KG/O'neal we ain't gonna go anywhere! As simple as that.

you don't have to win now...be smart, get young talent while shedding salary.
    DO NOT ADD MORE SALARY
wait to have some cap then use the thing that few teams have in this league - the ability to draw free agents in at less money due to where the team plays

Hey this is the 4th year we out of the playoffs I believe !!! It's time to rebuild yes but another 10 years to rebuild in NYC? Thats not gonna happen because the fans got enough of this **** already. Isiah knows he better do something quick about this team. Our salary will go down to 80mil this season so it should be enough to make a trade for KG/O'neal and even get someone like carter on our team.

    New York Post -
Despite Vince Carter's disappointing postseason, the Knicks still have interest in pursuing the Nets high-flyer if he becomes a free agent July 1, a source close to Isiah Thomas told The Post.

The Knicks plan to revisit trade discussions they held with the Nets before the Feb. 23 deadline.

"They will do their due diligence with him," the source said of Carter.

The Knicks would have to work out a sign-and-trade agreement with the Nets. The Knicks, however, are wary of Carter's reported interest in getting a 3-year, $60 million deal - which they consider a long-term investment on a 30-year-old on the downhill portion of his career.

Thomas has stated the Knicks are not looking to use their $5 million mid-level exception on a free agent and aren't interested in adding to the payroll and luxury-tax bill.

Before the trade deadline, the Knicks offered the Nets a package of Channing Frye, Malik Rose and Jerome James (the latter two of which own bad contracts for their production) for Carter. The Nets declined, though they like Frye. It is believed they also asked about rookie Renaldo Balkman, who would look great on the fastbreak with Jason Kidd. [READ]
