The Bulls marched into the Key last friday and took the points. The Sonics bounced back with a big win in New York while Chicago suffered a roadtrip concluding loss to the Clippers, but they will be a tough proposition back in the Windy City. Seattle ended it's season high three game losing streak, and will be looking to even the season series against the young Bulls, who are poised to be the first post-MJ team to make the playoffs in red.
<ul> [*]While Vlad Radmanovic and Antonio Daniels have seen their campaigns for sixth man honours go down a notch, a young man from Chicago is aiming for unique double. Former UConn product Ben Gordon is closing in on fellow former Huskie Emeka Okafor for rookie of the year honours, but the amazing face about that? He's doing it off the bench, as he also guns for the sixth man award, as he is among the league leaders in fourth quarter points.
* Useful/less stat of the day: Rashard Lewis needs to average 18.38 points per game over the rest of the regular season to ensure an average of 20 points per game for the whole campaign. * Word of the Day: Wisterpooper; v: a slap to the side of one's head. "Look for Danny Fortson to deliver some nasty wisterpoopers to the Chicago frontline." Random Family Guy Quote Peter: Oh my god, Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says, 'Oooooo.' BUlls win 105-97. Sorry sonics fans. I think the bulls will pull this one off at home. Chicago is tuff to beat at home. And with the loss to the clips you can expect chicago to do exactly what seattle did to NY.
My boy Rashard Lewis has quietly had a great past few games. Ray is playing way off key and Shard is really the only Sonic stepping up to fill his shoes. Props props props props props.
Reginald Evans with 19 caroms in 27 minutes. He has 35 rebounds in his last 55 minutes of court time.
one defensive quarter The last 2 wins seem to fit the mold I laid out in the last Chicago thread.... They got a 30 pt quarter in NY and held them under 20 twice to pull out the win. Tonight they never broke 30 (28 was their best) but they held Chicago to a whopping 12 points in the 3rd with 3 solid offensive quarters (25, 25 and 28). Doesn't take much!!! They didn't even need Vlade. Coming home from Japan today...first time I get to watch the supes in two weeks...I left when they were winning, I expect that to continue tonight (it is already 3:30 Wednesday here in Tokyo)!!!
The refs wouldn't swallow the whistle this time. Seems like the refs were listening to Ray and the whoever else was talking to the media about the last Bulls/Sonics game, but they weren't the reason for our loss. We should have played through it. We seem to be unable to consistently shoot throughout games. Gordon didn't bring his magic in the 4th. Oh well, we better win tonight against New Jersey.
I thought Gordon scored 11 of his 21 in the last? Kept the Bulls in it down the stretch. The refs were trigger happy tonight, calling around 35-40 fouls on each team. The Sonics shot a horrid 30-44 from the line too, and Danny fouled out in six minutes.
Big win for the Sonics coming back from 15 down in the 2nd half. Rashard played great, like an All-Star for sure. I'm wondering when Ray Allen is going to bust out of his slump; his play is really starting to concern me. He's been complaing a lot. I mean what the hell is he saying at center court after each game nowadays I wonder. First time I've watched the Bulls this year and I was impressed with their perimeter defenders - Hinrich, Nocioni, Duhon and Gordon really seem to get after it. Definitely a team with a bright future if Curry and Chandler (and Deng) continue to progress (and they can sign them).
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> and Danny fouled out in six minutes.</div> This is really getting ridiculous. I like Danny Fortson and his aggressive play but c'mon how do you get 6 fouls in 6 minutes. Nate or somebody needs to sit him down and tell him to ease up a bit. The Sonics are better with Danny in the game but if he's only in the game for 6 minutes that really doesn't help anyone besides the other team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Supersonic:</div><div class="quote_post">I thought Gordon scored 11 of his 21 in the last? Kept the Bulls in it down the stretch. </div> He did, but he missed many key shots at the end that are normally automatic for him in the clutch.
