After taking Kevin Durant, and then trading for Jeff Green, the Sonics looked like they were building a young team that could dominate in the future. I was eager to see how they were going to use both Durant and Green in the starting lineup, even if they were both 3s, one could have moved to the 4. But after hearing that the team was ready to re-sign Rashard Lewis, I couldn't believe it. Like someone on the ESPN panel said, the Sonics are trying to put three 6'10'' SFs all on the floor at once. Two is enough, but three is just too much of a situation. Seattle still doesn't have a big man down low that can penetrate inside, and their PG situation is still in disaray with both Earl Watson and Luke Ridnour sharing PT. Oh, and did I mention that the SEA/BOS trade brought over another outside shooter in Wally Szerbiak. These guys may produce a lot of points, but I don't see them all being successful together. It's like they're building a lineup of Forwards...PG Lewis 6'10''SG Szerbiak 6'8''SF Durant 6'10''PF Green 6'10''C Wilcox 6'9''(of course this is just an exaggeration of the situation)I'm sorry but that lineup does not look good at all. It still isn't official on whether or not Lewis will be re-signed, but if he is the Sonics are going to have a huge problem on deciding who will go where. Does anyone see this as a problem like I do??

If they resign Lewis, that tells me that they are going for the Warriors approach of a few interhchangable 6'7''-6'10'' players. With the offensive weapons they have, most of which being versatile and athletic, I feel it could very well work. While I don't think it will win a ring, it can help them make some noise in 2-3 years.

Sczcerbiak, Durant, and Lewis are pretty similar players, I don't expect all three to stay.

Man, there are so many topics saying the same thing...I hate being the person to say that kind of stuff, but it's true.

with how versatile some of these players are like Durant and Green, it could definitely work. Well, when I say it could work I mean they could not be terrible right now. They will definitely have I high-powered offense, but they probably won't be able to guard many teams. they'll bring fans into the stadiums, but they won't make the playoffs until kevin durant starts to really dominate.

I really don't understand why they would trade for Jeff Green after drafting Durant. Doesn't make any sense to me :dunno:

Seattle will look much better if they let Rashard Lewis walk, but if they re-sign him, IDK what's going to happen. All I know is that this team can be successful with Durant and Green on the floor, they just need a few more pieces to make it work.

As far as I know, the Sonics run a high paced offense, which if you see in PHX, you can have an undersized player at the 4 spot. I think it will work out.

They need to keep Green and Durant, that'd be a fantastic duo. Lewis needs to be traded, I think you can get some good talent in return for him. Szerbiak is alot harder to move because of his huge contract but they need to find some way to get rid of him. They've got 3 very young centers that would be good trade bait for teams lacking depth at the C position. There's alot of guys on this team that need to be moved, imo.

Jeff Green brings a little toughness to the sonics, too. I think he might be the glue for this team in the future. He's a brilliant passer, a great defender, and he can play the 2, 3, or 4. He can even shoot from the outside. He's got the package boys.

haha I was thinking green would probably end up playing the 2-guard. for some reason that's just where I see him. I'm not sure positions really matter at this point for the sonics, I guess it's just match-ups. Put green on the best wing. ha

Yeah, this actually could be very good for the Sonics. Green and Durant are both capable of playing the 2, and could create many mis-match problems for other teams. They can do a lot with their lineup.
