Its been reported on NBA.com...Seattle trades Calvin Booth to Dallas for Danny Fortson...Yall lose height, but you get a MUCH better rebounder and scorer in Fortson...IMO, yall robbed Dallas blindly and Fortson should be a great addition to yalls frontcourt...

Great trade by the Supes. Got a rebounder and got rid of some IMO wasted space. Fortson will be a nice addition to the frontcourt.

Nice! He'll be a solid back-up (very solid) behind Collison and whoever ends up manning the center position.

There's questions over his character, but sometimes you just have to put some basketball talent out there, as opposed to a bunch of good blokes.

Great job by the Sonics, finally. I am very excited about this trade. I had just written in the NBA Forum about Fortson being the strongest player in the league outside of Shaq. He will definitely help the Supes on the boards and with building an identity of toughness. If I were the Nate I would start Fortson at the four.

I'm starting to have a little more faith in management with this move. Getting rid of Calvin Booth is music to my ears. Rick Sund may not be as complacent as I think.

If Fortson was a couple of inches taller, he would get 15 rebounds a game. Anyone remember that season in Golden State where he only played six games, but averaged 16 and 16 before injury?

Obviously he's not going to do that in Seattle, but he provides an upgrade on Reggie Evans. I remember Dallas didn't want to let Booth leave when we first signed him, now we've managed to get rid of him and get more than just deadweight back. A grade move by management here.

Why in my opinion does this trade suck for Dallas?
Couldn't they have gotten someone better. Mark Cuban better get off his show the benifactor and figure out whats going on with his team. Horrible Horrible trade.

I guess Cuban made the trade on the basis that Booth has performed well in Dallas previously, and that he may find his niche again...

I'm told Dallas wanted a center who could block a shot and knock down the 12-15 footer. Unfortunately, in doing that they've lost all of their physicality, not a good thing in the West.

    One down, two to go!

It really is interesting that Dallas would be interested in Booth again (especially with his play the last few years..), although he did have a good season there before the Sonics picked him up.

If only we can sell James and Potapenko before the season starts [IMG]
