Last time, the Sonics' rookie Luke Ridnour found Rashard Lewis for the winning bucket inside the last five seconds. Phoenix are last in the Western Conference with a 19-40 record, whereas Seattle are 10 games behind Denver for the final Western playoff spot.
ah...I hope we get this win....not being such flakes...I'm going to be gone til Sunday...can anyone e-mail me: lilangeldiva187@hotmail.com the boxscore & recap and such of the game(s)? Thanks...
Suns up 29-20 after one. Here's a tip Seattle, either make your shots (33%) or ... PLAY SOME FREAKIN' DEFENSE! Well it's Phoenix 57-47 at halftime, and looks like no-one from the Sonics read my earlier post. A five point deficit turned into a ten point deficit in the last 30 seconds just cos Seattle cannot do the basics of basketball. Bring on the damn lottery. Suns shooting 60%, and they're not having a freakishly good shooting night. They're just getting so many simple looks.
I was going to try and grab some Sonics tickets for an upcoming game but I dont know if I want to watch them play horrible basketball and lose once again.
Well Sonics lost by 5, 104-99. They didn't deserve to get that close, and they had too many brain fades at key moments to count. Positives were Antonio Daniels' play (again) and a healthy game from Flip Murray off the bench, but aside from that, it was very, very dim. Ray led the Supes with 23, but shot 6-22 from the field, and added n ine boards and five dimes. Daniels had 19, 10 dimes and a single turnover, while Rashard Lewis had 14, seven boards and five dimes. Murray added 18 from the pine. Little intensity and no defense for much of the game, Daniels seemed the only Sonic who could match Phoenix's desire in this one. Not pretty at all. Box Score courtesy of NBA.com. Next Game: @ Houston, Sunday Feb 29th
post presence..i think thats the biggest hole in Seattle right now(well Brent bein' gone aint helpin' things much either)...need someone downlow to contest the cats like Amare and the like.....and I'm sure Nate is super pissed at the defensive effort..anyways Seattle aint bad just kinda wanderin' around lost right now...
Amare and Marion started off hot, JJ finished you guys off. Tough, tough loss heading into the next 2 weeks of games for the Sonics. Good luck mate.
The fourth quarter comeback was exciting, but we really didn't deserve to win. Our major, major problem is that not only do our bigs give us nothing on the offensive end (won't even attempt shots beneath the rim) - they can't stop anyone on the defensive end. It's entirely fruitless having Potapenko, JJ and Reggie Evans out out there. Nick Collison won't be the saviour, but can certainly provide a viable option on either end. Actually, I agree with something that Tom Tolbert remarked - Allen and Lewis may not be able to co-exist simply due to them both being players who settle for the 3 entirely too often. With Allen I guess it's acceptable, because he's a purer shooter... but Lewis really does not make the most of his athleticism in regards to taking it to the hole. We looked most dangerous when we had Daniels, Murray and Lewis out there. Food for thought. One last thing, we had to work so hard for baskets to get back into the game, but let so many automatic 2s for Joe Johnson in particular in the fourth. Seems a waste of time and energy to get the score and then ease up on D.
^ I took note of that Tom Tolbert comment too, but my honest opinion is it's tough to judge without an effective big man. Two perimeter based guys may not be able to co-exist effectively if they are the main two options on offense, but with an effective big guy who you can kick it into down low then it's a different situation. Collison I think will be a nice role player in the Troy Murphy mould, but I have doubts to whether he can be that impact guy we need down low. This off-season should be very interesting if management are worth their salt.
