As we all know by now, Jason Kidd made this bold prediction about them going back to the Finals. Can they really do it considering that the East now have a stronger field? What made Jason believe that they have what it takes to make it to the Finals for a third year in a row?

    1. They have Frankenstein:

"This is a great show. Have you ever seen this before?"

-- New head coach Lawrence Frank, to his wife Susan two years ago, while watching a "Seinfeld" rerun, according to the Feb. 12 USA Today. The incident was an example of how immersed Frank is in basketball.

Really guys, who would've thought that a person who isn't good enough to be in his high school team will turn a team around? If you know that this guy spends most of his life in the film room watching game tapes, then you'll know what he's talking about. He has led the team to 9 straight victories. Each one a blowout. He has the respect of each and every player and he doesn't have an ounce of over-confidence in his body. He always credit the players for each and every time. He draws up perfect plays. Try to watch the team after every timeout and you'll see a perfect execution of a play. He's able to make key adjustments. He even outcoached Jeff Van Gundy- the man he's always compared with after he made some key adjustments. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Frank Revolution.

    2. Motivation and Swagger:

It's back y'all. The team is motivated than ever. You can see them pumped up each and every game. Everyone was saying that the swagger wasn't there when they're losing. But now, it's back. You can see K-Mart dunking with authority then letting out a yell afterwards. You can see Jefferson and Kittles calmly draining jumpers. It's scary.

    3. Maturity:

Picture this. K-Mart jumped perfectly to block a shot at it's highest peak. What did he do? For those of you who didn't see it, you'll assume that the ball will end up on the third row. But not this year. K-Mart was mature enough to let go of the bragging rights that he swatted the ball away to the stands. He blocked the ball and he made sure that it stayed alive. He swatted it to his teammate Jason Kidd who started the break. The team in itself matured greatly. There were games that they were down at the half but they were mature enough to win the game in blow out fashion.

    3. The Nets Defense:

Each and every team used to discuss this before every game. They will have a battle plan on how to break the Nets defense. But not during the first quarter of the season. Shooters will have a heydey shooting a wide open jumper because the defense was lost. Teams will get 3-4 tries on the offensive end because no one among the Nets could get the defensive board. But not anymore. The Nets that we're seeing now are the Nets that we all know. They will clog up the passing lane. You can see everyone contesting every jumpshots. K-Mart and the others are battling bigger guys for the board. The Nets defense is back that leads to...

    4. The Nets Fastbreak:

Who's not afraid of the Nets break? Sure it's a beauty to watch, but a nightmare for the opposing team. Teams will have their tongue hanging by the half after trying to keep up with the Nets. They will try to slow down the game to no avail. Jason Kidd tries to run the break each and every play and with K-Mart, Jefferson and Kittles perfectly complimenting Kidd, WATCH OUT BELOW!

    5. The Nets' Big Three:

Where else can you see three players complimenting greatly with each other. I'm sure you can argue with 2-3 teams having it but these three are perfect examples of a "Big Three". No one among the three averages more than 20ppg. They enjoy playing with each other. Kidd will help K-Mart and Jefferson get their points by setting up plays for them. K-Mart and Jefferson will help Kidd get his assists by perfectly timing themselves to be at the right place at the right time. K-Mart will help Kidd start the break with a block or a rebound. K-Mart will help Jefferson drain the jumper with a perfect pick. The bottomline is, they make each other look good.

    6. The Nets Playoffs Greatness:

From the looks of it, all the Nets have to do is get in the playoffs and it's in the bag. They proved it to everyone by sweeping/beating the teams last season. They have a great leader who'll take over games by shooting the game-winner or giving the game-winning assist. It's going to happen again this year.

Watch out everyone. The Beast of the East is back!

I know, but thanks for pointing that out. I added another reason and that is their greatness during the playoffs. I was just pointing out the reasons why Kidd made that prediction.

I still feel the Pacers are the best east team this season, and trust me I hate saying that. Pacers have all the tools to even compete with the west elite. They have good size, a great post player, one of the best shooters ever, one of the best defensive players in the NBA who can shut down anyone, a great coach who has proven he can take a team far in the playoffs but more importantly they play great team defense.

Nets run will come to an end sooner or later like the Laker's run did, this year I expect to be the year.

The Pacers are good but I don't think they have what it takes to stop the Nets break. Plus, they don't have the motivation and the swagger come playoffs time.

Pacers are a great defensive team who has been able to stop teams on the break very well this season. To say Pacers don't have swagger is quite funny as thats what their game is about from watching them this year, they have an experienced coach which will help come playoff time

You need to realise the Nets are not going to the finals every season, It's also the last thing the NBA wants as well.

If Pacers don't make the finals this year It will mean they choked, they have the most talented team in the eastern conference without a doubt.

That's exactly what I mean. I said they don't have the motivation AND the swagger come PLAYOFFS time. I didn't say that the Pacers doesn't have the swagger at this time. They do, but will they still have it during the playoffs? Motivation and swagger comes hand in hand. I know they have a great coach but it would still boils down to the players during the players. They could choke again. Right now, motivation=Nets. From the looks of it, the Nets will do what they did last playoffs but I would've to agree that the Pacers have a legit chance to do it. SOme games will be decided by a shot or two. Does Reggie still has what it takes to make the game-winner? If not, who would take it?

The Nets are definitely a team I see going to the Eastern Conference Finals and even the NBA Finals. They're just such a great team ever since Frank took over. He knew how to use great individuals to make a good team.

Your only contenders seem to be the Pistons and Pacers right now who play very good ball defensively. I'm sorry to say I don't see the Hornets doing it this year. They seem to have become mediocre during these past few weeks. You're on par with the beasts of the East, if not better and have a great chance of going far.

With the way you guys play, the way the coach coaches you and the overall team you've become. You're sure to make some difference and consolation over the course of the next half of the season.

In all honesty, If the playoffs started today the Nets would play the knicks in the 1st round & they scare me much more than the pacers.

For one, the knicks actually have a point guard who can out play Jason kidd in a seven game series. The pacers dont. Point guard play is extremely important to beat the Nets. In last years playoffs the only team to beat the Nets in the east was the Bucks. And they had two all-star caliber players playing the point guard position during that series (Payton & Cassell). And Tony Parker outplaying Kidd early in the finals really gave the spurs somewhat of an edge. Jason Kidd has to be in complete control inorder for the Nets 2 win but he wont be against steph.

#2 Rebounding- The Nets have had alot of problems rebounding the ball this year. Well against a rebounding front line of Kurt thomas, Mutombo, Nazr Mohommad that spells alot of trouble for the Nets. That might be the best rebounding core that the Nets have evr faced in route to getting out of the east. We dont usaully see 7 footers until the finals. The Pacers on the other hand dont really have a dominate rebounder other J. Oneal. But with him & K-mart matched up I pretty sure their rebounding stats might even out by the end of the series. So it will come down to which teams the perimeter players rebound the best. And with Kidd & Jefferson able to attack the boards without fighting 7 footers for rebounds l like our chances to have the rebounding edge.

And another reason I like our chances against the Pacers is that their best player J.Oneal doesnt really play well against K-mart & the Nets. His average against the Nets the past few seasons is like only around 13 or 14 points per game. No way can the pacer beat the Nets if J.Oneal stats are below average. And his stats are extremely below average again this year against the Nets. He only averaging like 15points in the 3 games we've played them this year. And his average is only that high because the last time we played them K-mart got into early foul trouble. So he spent most of the evening being guarded by the likes of Rodney Rodgers. So if K-mart stays out of foul trouble then I like our chances of containing J.Oneal
