A space rock which has its origin in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter loses its path and plummets into the earth’s atmosphere with a dazzling light. Such pieces of rocks often survive their fiery path and fall on Earth, bringing along with itself a part of history of the existence of the cosmos. One such rock had plummeted through the Earth’s atmosphere and had landed in California in 2012. Scientists were surprised to find that the meteorite contained all the essential ingredients necessary for the evolution of life. The Meteorite which had exploded over California was studied by scientists of the Arizona State University. The meteorite contained vital ingredients which can help scientists unravel the mysteries of the universe and in particular throw some light on the evolution of life on Earth. The meteorite which has been christened as Sutter’s Mill meteorite was studied by a research team led by a research professor in ASU’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Sandra Pizzarello.
