The Hawks cut Juan Dixon as they pare their roster. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=ap-hawkscuts&prov=ap&type=lgns Gramps...
Juan is a good guy. Given his size and athleticism, he's had a hell of a career. If this is it for him, he should be proud of what he accomplished.
PG: Steve Blake SG: Juan Dixon SF: Darius Miles PF: Viktor Khryapa C: Ha Seung-Jin Yes, folks, that was an actual starting lineup.
That is why when I look at the problems of todays team, I don't get down. As long as it never goes back to how it was then, I am good with it.
That box score is a big bowl of misery for both teams. Just a shame that somebody was actually called "winner" at the end of the game.
Damn.. other than Ha, we had no players taller than 6-9 who played in that game. What a big mess that season was.. As for Dixon, I wasn't a big fan. The guy bricked so many shots, and was told to shoot more because he was one of the few who had the ability to make a shot outside 15 feet.
New expression: "It's too bad that one team had to win this game." Why was he a dick? His problem is that he's the world's smallest SG. He weighs 164 pounds (click on his name in the box score to see it). It's impossible for him to play defense or drive into traffic, but he did it anyway and often came up with great clutch baskets. He won games in the 4th quarter with clutch drives. He was the Outlaw of that time (speaking of skinny guys who can't play like they should because they get knocked down if they try).
Look at the rest of our playing roster that game; I think we played Viktor at center that game, and Ruben at PF. But that team did shoot 55% for the game and 44% from 3pt land!
lol. And they still lost by 4. Even when that team was good (which was practically never) they were still bad.
