LeBron signing a 2 year Max contract and then signing his kid to a multi-year deal just absolutely cripples them in the free agency and trade markets. This was barely a play-in team last year and they sure as hell aren't getting any better while the West stacks up around them. I'm loving it so much. Yet still they'll be on TV every damn week and we'll still get their fans acting like the entitled pompous idiots they are. They lucked out with that Knecht kid, I think he'll be a good player.

Until the league miraculously adopts a 4 point line just because Lakers have Knecht, merely so they can say "Knecht four".

He chose #4, so we're set. Best nickname since AK47

not even a discount from Lebron to help pay for his son, lol. I wish the kid good luck but IMO he’s not even worthy of being drafted.

    If I’m a Laker fan I’m pissed!!!

Laker fans are in some ways like Donald Trump fans, it's a cult-like obsession with the organization, that it can do no wrong regardless of the stupid things it does or it's multiple failures that any other NBA team would be lambasted over.

Please, do not compare things MAGA or Trump to the Lakers. That’s going too far. The Lakers and their fans are far, far worse. Communists are worser than that, but it’s close.
    [I’m joking … of course … kinda …]

The Lakers don’t deserve to get Grant, who I like. They still wouldn’t win a ring with him — if the gods are just — but watching LeBron exit stage left on a relatively mediocre team would be sweet. Trading Jerami to them and making it a nicer exit for James, however, would be FAR surpassed by getting 2 high draft picks when they suck. That is and continues to be my hope.

Bronny got a 4yr "new CBA" max for a 2nd rd. pick. He's getting more cheddar then Toumani Camara.

Gilbert Arenas pod sipping LeBron juice. "Bronny will advance his career much faster playing with his dad, compared to staying in college."

You guys are nuts about the Bronny deal.

Take a look at this. https://www.spotrac.com/nba/player/_/id/78167/jabari-walker

Same fucking deal it just has RFA going into the fourth year instead of a team option. I personally feel like the Bronny deal makes more sense for a rookie that a team likes that drafts him in the final 2 or 4 picks of the draft.

The fucking James family hate in this place is unreal. Can't even take the time to look at our own roster before throwing stones. SMH!

Woj tossed out a 20m hit for LeBron. Sorry dude, ain't no way LBJ is taking Tyler Herro money.

It’s not Bronny hate. But you got the rest right. The repetitious, hyperventilating media hype was overplayed. That will fade soon enough (not soon enough but eventually) and Bronny will just try to get better. The media will stop seeking him out until he does something as an NBA player to rate it.

    LeBron can kick rocks.

2nd rounders now fulfill drafted players dream come true. Guaranteed long term salary. The NBA wants kids that get drafted to see the court. Not stashed away in Europe for pennies on the dollar.

It's also a dream come true for GM's. If a late 2nd rounder like Bronny turns into a star player ... there's no opt out or negotiating until the contract expires. A goldmine on reduced salary.

If the rookie doesn't make big waves, their contract is a tiny shadow of the total payroll.
