I read in the paper the Cavs were considering this guy. He's in the 6'7"-6'9" range, 220 lbs and can play SG or SF, which would allow us to move LBJ around. Everyone seems to think this Russian has fantastic range, can contribute immediately, and has the body to develop into a lock down defender. I don't believe everything I read, but he sounds pretty good.
Welcome to JBB Juice! I haven't heard much about Monya, any stats or anything like that? Would be helpful.
I saw Monya play at the european championship last summer and thought he was Russias best player aside from Kirilenko. He's a tough player that can knock down a open jumper, doesnt create much for himself though. He is a decent athlete and a good defender but its really hard to know how his game will translate to the NBA. At this point I would rather go with Childress if he's available but since it seems like he wont be I think Monya can be a good choice.
