MADRID (AP)—Real Madrid signed New York Knicks guard Sergio Rodriguez(notes) to a three-year contract on Friday. The 24-year-old Spanish player joined the Knicks from the Sacramento Kings halfway through last season after having played three seasons in Portland. The 6-foot-3 foot (1.95-meter) Rodriguez averaged 7.4 points and 3.4 assists per game in 27 NBA games for the Knicks. He averaged 4.3 points and 2.9 assists per game during four seasons in the North American basketball league. Rodriguez was a member of Spain’s world championship-winning team in 2006.
