I haven't seen any threads on this here, or discussion about it, but this show/podcast is a must listen. Its every bit as good as True Detective, but its real. Heard about it while watching youtube/grantland, they were raving about it, and they weren't bs'ing. I'm extremely intrigued. Does anyone else listen? I'm on episode 8, episode 10 just dropped this week Synopsis "Serial is a new podcast from the creators of This American Life, hosted by Sarah Koenig. Serial will follow one story - a true story - over the course of a whole season. We'll follow the plot and characters wherever they take us and we won’t know what happens at the end of the story until we get there, not long before you get there with us. Each week we'll bring you the latest chapter, so it's important to listen in order, starting with Episode 1. If you need help knowing how podcasts work and how you get one, watch our tutorial." http://serialpodcast.org/
Serial is fantastic, better than advertised. Binge listening worthy for sure. It is a compelling, real life whodunit. Free Adnan Syed!
Just found out about this yesterday and downloaded them. Haven't started listening to them yet though. Everybody that tells me about it, swears I'll love it. I just don't understand what it is. Is it like news reports or like an audiobook with different characters?
HCP: The reporter is digging into the story of a murder from 15 years ago where the guy who was convicted may be innocent. So each week she reports another aspect of the story, with interviews of the key players, etc. It's a long murder mystery being told week by week in 12 parts.
So she's talking, reading her notes? I thought it was like an audiobook. Whatever it is, it sounds awesome, and I'm about to knock it out on this road trip!
This is real life. There are no spoilers. In fact, it's very likely there will be no reveal at the end and no conclusions. Like life.
Sorry, didnt intend too "spoil" but like BC points out, there are no spoilers....Anyways, its just a best guess of all the info I have currently. Theres a whole subreddit forum on this topic. Wealth of (dis)information.= for those intersted
Sorry didn't mean to attack, but regardless of the nature of this real life story, there is something nice as a listener to discovering information and story lines on ones own, how the program was designed. Hearing your guesses may not ruin anything, but it does add bias and an unintended perspective when those people are first being discussed or interviewed. It wasn't much of a reveal, so I shouldnt have pulled out the Jerk word, no harm no foul. As an apology, I offer this:
Holy crap! I went to make a thread about this, and I saw this thread. Skipped most of the thread to avoid spoilers, since I just started today. But this is INSANE!!!
I didn't click on your link but I instantly knew what it was. I remember listening to the Radio Mystery Theater when I was a kid. EG Marshall was the best!
We listened to it on our holiday drive to SoCal. It was great but I got to admit I found it somewhat lacking of closure since its a live in progress story. That being said I think he did it, but he shouldn't have been convicted based on that evidence. Anxiously awaiting season 2 now.
