Matt Serra's brother Nick, infamous for comments he made towards Georges St. Pierre in the build-up to Serra vs. St. Pierre II, fought on the undercard of EliteXC: Saturday Night Fights/Primetime this weekend. Nick is a one-time UFC fighter who lost to American Top Team fighter Benji Radach at UFC 37.5. Nick has had a few fights for smaller leagues since with mixed results. His opponent on Saturday was a 2-0 Matt Makowski. So, Nick comes to the ring in a monkey mask. His gimmick is that he is "The Mad Monkey", hence the mask, pictured below. In the second round of Nick's fight he gassed out and tried a flying guard pull on Makowski that failed pretty miserably. He got back up but as Makowski closed in, Serra fell back to the mat and invited Makowski to get into his guard. Makowski wasn't having it and Serra wasn't going to get back up, so the ref disqualified Serra. The official result of the fight was DQ (Wouldn't Get Up From Butt Scoot). I think I'd rather tap out from strikes than refuse to get off my ass. Just remember: Serra's don't tap.
