Sevilla Still The Best Team In The World

Sevilla have retained their position as the best team in the world for the 14th consecutive month after Champions League wins against Slavia and Steaua.

The rankings produced by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) keeps the Andalucian outfit ahead of Chelsea and Manchester United.

Despite losing two of their four league games in October, the European triumphs have ensured that Sevilla remain on top of the pile of the 350 clubs on the list.

While Sevilla have lost their coach Juande Ramos to Tottenham, Avram Grant has a lot to live up to as Chelsea are in second place, just two points ahead of Manchester United, who are in third.

Three Italian sides are in the top ten with Serie A champions Inter in sixth place, but only seven points separate them from Milan and Roma.

FC Barcelona lie in tenth place in the rankings, while Liverpool, Rangers, Arsenal and, oddly, Blackburn Rovers are not far behind.

The IFFHS implement a complicated points system based on performances against continental opposition, rather than taking into account any league results.

    The top ten teams:
