I do a 5k every month to make myself keep training but I don't run a ton. About 10 - 12 miles/week and cross train with other things. My goal this year is to master the 10k. We're doing the 8k on Sunday. I'm not anywhere close to a half marathon even. I can't imagine running in one of those uberthons!

I thought it was those races where people will run like 25k or 50k but I realized after I posted that he means the races put on by uberthon. They organize and time the events, they do a really good job. I ran in their Zombie Apocalypse one in Dayton in October.

    ahh, gotcha.
I want to do one of the 50K ones, my issue is all the ones I see seem to be trail runs. Can't find a 50K road run.

Wow, seriously, wow! I know this is a really stupid question but do people stop to sleep or do you just keep running for like 30 hours?

My uber goal is running one of the Run Disney half marathons someday.

for a 50K? It's "only" 31 miles. So just slightly more than a normal marathon. A marathon is a 42K.
I've never done one before. I have ran the marathon in portland the last two years, figured it might be fun to see how far is too far.

It's on Monday but thank you... unfortunately it looks like my zaggaros aren't going to make it to me for the run. I'm disappointed. :sigh:

My problem with running that kind of distance is boredom. I love that runner's high where it feels like you're a machine built to run but do you have it the whole time? So much of running is a mental thing and I just don't see myself having the patience to run hours. I'd definitely need a better playlist on my iPod!

haha, I get bored on some runs. Towards the end of my training last year, I'd be bored before a run even started, but it was more of a chore, it seemed. Though the long weekend runs were fun. I gave up running with headphones, and maybe that helps some? More just a couple hour day dreaming session. I work up some of my best trade machine ideas on runs! As well as most my fantasy football trades.
