Rudy Gay will soon be better than Shane Battier. At first I thought it was Gay for Battier but then throw in Swift, stupid trade Houston.
Im not sure if i agree with this trade in Houstons stand point. They just traded away a player who possibly has the most potential out of anyone in the draft. AND AND AND, they also gave away Stromile. Im not sure if i understand this from Houstons stand point. Maybe they just wanted to improve on defense
This is the dumbest trade I've ever seen. It's atleast up there.Seriously, this made me angry. Houston is a slow team, with an inability to score. You add Rudy Gay, and you are a little quicker, with a slasher to add to the mix. Instead, they lose another athlete in Stromile as well as Gay, and add Shane Battier. I love Battir, don't get me wrong, but he is yet another slow defener who cannot create his own shot on a consistent basis. I jsut don't understand this
I can see why they got rid of Swift. He has one of the lowest basketball IQ and a big contract. But I bet hes mad he has to go back to Memphis where he just left.

The only Rockets upside is their D will improve, Rudy Gay iof they'd kept him would help the McGrady back issue and provide great offensive support.What were the Rockets thinking? Rudy Gay will be a great player and is young, Battier is a veteran already

Swift has to be added, you can't give up a contract player for a draft pick. That's what was wrong with the trade last night and had me questioning how was it only Gay for Battier. I don't get the bashing behind the trade, Gay is being overrated. If Rockets were building for the future then the trade makes no sense. But their not, their trying to win NOW and Battier will come in and be a good compliment to Yao and Tracy. Swift was terrible last year and they got rid of his contract. The trade is really being blown out of porportion in how bad it was. Seriously when I heard the trade, I thought Rockets got better, because Gay has proven nothing in the NBA.
Gay can shoot, is very athletic, and can play D. He does everything Battier can do, is younger and better on offense. He wouldve gone great with T-Mac and wouldve been able to pick up the scoring load if T-Mac got injured again. About Anderson, I know he sucks and isnt anywhere as good as Battier, I was just kidding. Swift can be decent for the Rockets even though he sucked last year. This trade was terrible. Gay can and will be better than Battier and Houston will regret this possibly as early as next year. Its not like their gonna win the championship with Battier, there are a bunch of teams that are much better than them

But Rockets are obviously thinking now, so they did the trade especially with Tracy's window of opportunity getting smaller. They took a proven commodity over a unknown.
I don't like this deal for the Rockets either. I think Gay will be a Tayshaun Prince type player, and Swift is still fairly young and very athletic. The Rockets do need a guy with Battiers defensive mentality, but I think they could have given up a lot less for him.
