Who is better on defense?I'm taking battier since he has been much more impressive this season than Bowen.

Battier... I dislike Bowen because he always manages to irritate players he guards and, imo, is a dirty player.

^He is a dirty player with his whole sticking the foot under the jumpshooter. But players like Ray "I'm a bi*ch" allen and vince carter complain when they get stopped.

At this point Battier, because his defense is better, and he seems to be a good "glue" guy.But roll this back 2 years or so, and it's Bowen by far. His defense, along with his killer 3 ball...would have made him my pick.

Yeah even a year ago I would've given it to Bowen but now I think Battier is the better defender.

I say battier too, they are both pretty good defenders and I like bowen cause he makes people whine like little hoe bags, but he's a liability on the court, and pisses me off cause he sucks now that he's lost a step and gets scored on at will most of the time it seems......and at least battier can score some, bowen can't do sh*t on the offensive end......

Bowen used to be a great defender, but that has declined with age. Shane Battier is one of those guys who does so much for your team that doesn't show up in the box score. He makes your opponent shoot bad shots and can annoy the heck out of a player, which may cause his fuse to blow and result in a technical foul.

I can honestly say I have not sat down and watched them play defense this season, I'll admit I have no f*cking idea.

Last season, Bowen. This season, Battier. Hes been playing much better defense, best in his career. Bowen played good D on Dirk last year in playoffs...Battier didnt. But Battier brings a blocking prescence too, with lockdown D and stealing...and his lockdown D has gotten alot better. Battier is my pick.

I have watched watched Bowen this season, and I think Battier brings more blocking AND lockdown D...which Bowen doesn't have both..

That will frustrate and the best the player in the league right now at that.

I really like Bowen's defensive talents, but Battier (right now) has an edge on him, plus he is younger. Bowen's age is starting to catch up to him. Battier is also like a glue for the rockets, im pretty sure our season would not be as good without Batman here (although you don't see it in the stats).
