NEW YORK, March 30 -- Los Angeles Clippers' Elton Brand, Memphis' Shane Battier, New Orleans' P.J. Brown and New Jersey's Kerry Kittles have been selected by a five-member panel of former players as divisional winners for the 2003-04 NBA Sportsmanship Award.

The NBA Sportsmanship Award, designed to honor a player who best represents the ideals of sportsmanship on the court, will be voted on by NBA players for the first time since its inception. The winner will be announced after the regular season. </div>

Battier is Mr.Class. He always takes time out to visit hospitals, go to charity fundraisers, and meet the kids. There is not a nicer player in the NBA. He and Brand are really saying a lot about Duke. Outside of Parks and Maggette, just about every Blue Devil to make the NBA has been a model citizen. Thank you Battier, and thank you coach Krzyzewski!

Well deserved, this guy is a class act. Good on and off the court, you wish more NBA players were like this.

Well-said. Shane is great off the court, especially with kids. I think this guy goes to more charity events per season than he does games.
