Shaq is scheduled to be out 4-6 weeks with his latest injury, which means he's likely going to miss the XMas rubber match with the Lakers. With Shaq out, the Lakers better beat this team handily and not take the Heat lightly.
I am whit you in this one, the game Whitout SHAQ is not that emotional and the lakers maybe gonna be too relaxed.
I have a feeling Shaq will seem like he won't be ready for Xmas day's game, but then 2 days before will announce he will play. or maybe I'm completely wrong. If Shaq doesn't play the game won't be as interesting imo.

Best case scenario for Shaq, it only takes 4 weeks, so he'd have about 1 week to compete before XMas. Here's what we all know about Shaq, its easy for him to gain weight when he's not active. He's already struggling with his conditioning this season, and there's no way he'll be NBA ready by the time XMas comes around. I don't even think Shaq is going to be recovered after 6 weeks. Remember last year, when Jermaine O'Neal gave him the thigh contusion? It took him over two months to recover from a deep bruise. It's optimistic to believe Shaq can go through knee surgery at the age of 38 and come back in just 6 weeks. Knee surgery is a serious operation, it's taken Kobe 3 months and he's still not 100%. Kobe is younger, in prime condition, and he's at least 100lbs lighter than Shaq. I predict Shaq misses closer to 10 or 12 weeks before he's back. If he has any setbacks push the return date even further.
Everytime. Always something to ruin a great show. Wade is going to have to carry this team on his shoulders.. These are old men playing and its beginning to show!!!

When he came back early he didn't allow the contusion to heal properly and reaggravated it, causeing the healing process have to start all over again. Then he came back against Detroit when they did need him, and it wasn't fully healed so it was a nagging injury. He had to get the blood drained daily or whatever. Second note: Shaq is 34 1/2 not 38 lol and there are different types of Knee surgeries, an ACL tearing is really bad, while I don't think Cartilidge damage is too bad. Like a ligament entirely snapping and having surgery for that, the recovery time I'm sure would be really long. Cartilidge though doesn't sound as serious. <div class="quote_poster">shapecity Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I predict Shaq misses closer to 10 or 12 weeks before he's back. 4-6 weeks is just a cushion to buy more time. It will be extended and use a "infection during surgery" excuse and he will be able to kick back even longer.
Let's see what D-Wade and Heats can do without Shaq. It is a little dissapointing that Shaq possibly not playing on Christmas, but it's all good if we get a W. Also I'll be more interesting in seeing D-Wade matches up with Kobe than Shaq vs whoever we got. Another interesting show I want to see is Kwame Brown vs Alonzo Mourning, in term of their physical strength. Always wanna know who's stronger
