yeah I saw this in the other thread, it's just Shaq being Shaq, I think everyone with common sense knows the deal (including Shaq)
<font size=""1"">"He's pretty much the same, just big, 7-6," O'Neal said. "He's just doing what he's supposed to do." </font> This is coming from Shaq. Yao could counter-argue and say Shaq has no basketball skills whatsoever...that he is just very big/athletic, and that anyone with his size/strength can power there way in for a dunk. At least Yao can shoot the ball, hook it, and make a turnaround jumper. The same big 7-6? Shawn Bradley, Manute Bol, and Gheorghe Muresan are the normal 7-6 big. All slow and uncoordinated. Yao is very athletic and quick for a man of his size. <font size=""1"">"Every time I score on him I was happy like a kid, like a kid getting candy on Halloween because it's really too hard to score on him, too hard. From what I saw, he is going to be a productive player in this league. Despite all the young talent (Rondo, Green, Perkins, and now Powe), the Celtics really suck. As for Shaq, I think that anyone who anoints himself the "Most Dominant Ever" has a little bit of an ego. I don't get it when people call Shaq charismatic. To me, he always seems like an ass. I would say that Shaq's game has changed less in his career, than Yao's has in the last year. Shaq's range has never gotten pass 5 feet and his FT shooting has only gotten worse. Yao, on the other hand, has been transformed himself into the best center in the league. Yes, he still takes a lot of jumpshots, but that does not mean he is the same. The main difference is his confidence in being the primary offensive option for the Rockets. He keeps commanding the ball even when he has a bad start. Also, he has moved his game closer to the basket. Yao rarely takes face-up jumpers from the high post anymore. He is also obviously stronger and has more stamina. A couple years ago, Yao would not have been able to play 38 minutes, a lot of which was against Shaq, and be so efficient.

With Al Jefferson out, he should get some steady minutes to produce at PF. Maybe he'll pan out like Chuck Hayes has for the Rockets. I still can't believe Chuck went undrafted. Great point on Yao's stamina. Yao has always struggled to play at a high level throughout an entire game. He used to breakdown by the 4th quarter, but now Yao is getting stronger as the game goes on. He broke Shaq down in the Miami game and he deserved a some acknowledgement from Shaq.
^"done him up" lol anyways, yao does use his size to get easy layups that is a fact, and plus i dont really see the comment as an insult its like neutral
Shaq might not be, but I am impressed with what Yao has been doing so far. I think even 20 ppg, 10 rpg, and 2 bpg is impressive for any center as long as they are playing solid defense, and not getting the 2 bpg from bad switches and leaving his man open too often or goal tending too much.
