<div class="quote_poster">Quoting :</div><div class="quote_post">McGrady said Friday that he expects Shaq -- whom he calls his "Big Bro" -- to recruit him to join the Los Angeles Lakers if Kobe Bryant leaves the Lakers. "Absolutely," McGrady said Friday. "I know that. I know he will." He said "it all depends how things go during the offseason. I'm at the point that I want to win. I don't want to start rebuilding again. We'll see what happens." The Magic lost O'Neal to the Lakers in 1996 and realize keeping McGrady is the top priority. Says one Magic player, requesting anonymity, "Just talking with Tracy, they better be careful."</div> Full Story Ha, not good for the Magic. Shaq still hates this franchise, I'm sure he would love to see McGrady leave the 'dried up little pond.' McGrady stated he's at the point where he wants to win, and he doesn't want to rebuild. If he truely believes that, Orlando isn't the city for him. Thankfully, he can't opt out until the season after this one. Hopefully we can draft a exceptional player in the lotto to help us win more ballgames.
Seeing things like that make me lose more and more respect for the Lakers, and make me disappointed with the players involved. It's a shame that the Lakers feel they must always have more than one superstar to carry the team because they can't develop a team with depth. And for McGrady, I'd rather not ever see him a Laker. If he wants to win, he can try and lead the team he has. He's got the talent in Orlando - just gotta get them motivated.
I can't picture McGrady in LA. I hate how everyone thinks they can just go to the Lakers just to win a championship. I mean, I understand it but when you've been with one franchise for awhile, like Malone & Payton... I dunno, I don't see why. I find it rather rude.
Tracy in Purple and Gold. I don't see it happening. Tracy is just frustrated with this year's season. He's letting the frustrations and stress talk for him. Luckily we get to keep him for 2 more seasons. We need a whole team that McGrady can go to to take some of the weight off his shoulders maybe the Magic can build a team like that before he can opt out of his contract. It'll get better for McGrady and the Magic. That's all it can go.
Big Bro? uh oh...thats not good lol I think Shaq does hate the Magic because they list that championship..he is going to get on T-Mac's head since he is frustrated this season..well T-Mac wants Okafor...I wont be surprised if we get him just so T-Mac feels better .. I mean college experience is better than High School and that means you have to help Dwight and he wont be that good fast...which is what we need to keep T-Mac ..so with Hill back and Okafor or Dwight playing good I think T-Mac wont leave..
Yea, this will be the biggest off-season for the Magic. Right up there when Shaq left and the signing of T-Mac and Hill. If we screw this up you can say goodbye to T-Mac and the Magic Franchise. Everything depends on how we do in the lottery. Okafor MUST wear a Magic Uniform this coming season. Plus, the return and final chance for Hill. But I think all these things will only happen if we dump Gabriel and a new coach. I'd love Byron Scott but I don't see the Magic paying him.
I expected to see something like this floating around the boards soon. This is very possibly, if Kobe does decide to look elsewhere. Shaq has said himself that him and McGrady are best friends, and T-Mac is like his real "little brother". I don't think it's just McGrady talking out of frustration, this is very realistic talk if you ask me. Their was an article about it on ESPN earlier in the year written by David Aldridge, and mentioned that it could be a sign and trade which would send Kobe to the Magic and T-Mac to the Lakers. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting kvh4fan:</div><div class="quote_post">I can't picture McGrady in LA. He knows the Lakers have a huge shot at it, and he also gets to play along with Shaq, who doesn't love that, especially with them being good friends. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Crossover:</div><div class="quote_post">Seeing things like that make me lose more and more respect for the Lakers, and make me disappointed with the players involved. It's reality, Shaq is getting hammered with injuries every year, he's getting older, and he's no longer that reliable Center that we can trust throughout the season. There's nothing to develop with depth, our role players are not that great. I don't want to see Kobe in another uni but the Lakers after the season, but if he decides to leave, I'd love to see T-Mac in Purple and Gold.

I know for sure that if my favorite player, Iverson, left Philly to go to LA just to win a championship, I'd be rather upset and disappointed.
i would lose the respect i had for tmac if he isnt able to stick it out for the magic... like how gp and malone left their not-so-good teams. eww if he goes there... LA would just be too good, something i do not want to happen. people who like LA are just jumping the bandwagon.
They would turn into the Yankees of basketball. Yankees and Lakers get whoever they want at whatever price they want it seems like.

This is just what Lakers are hoping for when they get absolutely NOTHING for their hero, Kobe. There isn't even any hint that T-Mac is leaving. All he said was that he knows Shaq will try to pursue him. Sorry Laker Fans, this is just wishful thinking. If we get the #1 pick you will see all your "dreams" go down the drain.LOL

I don't expect him to come if Kobe leaves, but it is always a possibility. This isn't our dreams, we don't want T-Mac, we want Kobe back, have you even bothered to look at any threads concerning Kobe's decision this off-season? This is just a consideration if all goes bad.
i hope grant hill can have a succesfull come back, he was one of the best all around players<-- than t-mac will stay, but i could actually see t-mac going to L.A. then my man bryant can to the clips. Then we will have a hell of a matchup in L.A.: Clippers: Bryant, Brand, Maggette, Richardson Lakers: O'neal, Malone, McGrady, Payton Bryant's team VS O'neal's team, would it get any better?

lmao..I dont care if T-Mac leaves to another team because of this season...but I hope is because nothing worked next season...but Ill accept any team by the lakers..I just hate em cuz they are like the Yankees in the MLB..or Real Madrid in soccer...when those 4 (GP , Malone , Shaq , Kobe) are back all together and 100% ? lol the rest will be history.
