If Shaq tried 100% during everygame. If Shaq came into camp in great shape. If Shaq put his heart into defense. If Shaq didn't take seasons off. Shaq would be the best to ever play in my opinion, I get pissed off thinking of how fat and lazy he got...eh...he could have been so much better.

Eh....bottom line he is still one of the top 2-3 centers of all time, and arguably most dominant ever. There are so many what if's out there, but bottom line is Shaq's career has been extremely successful either way.

Are you kiddin me... But he doesnt have to try 100% every game... He has players around him now. Shaq is getting old. He cant play at his best every game. and the heat dont want him to. Shaq is there for the playoffs.. ITs not like when he was in LA , Just him and kobeHe has Wade williams walker morring etc...

I've never cheered for Shaq...ever. In fact, I've cheered for every single Laker but Shaq. Even though I believe Kobe, Shaq, and Phil all split their share of the championship equally (and then you have to give a little to the role players as well), I've yet to clap for O'Neal. I hate the way he plays, and I respect the actual game more than watching him commit 12 fouls and only get called for one, even when he's driving his elbow into Brad Miller.

I think he does try. It's just that's really hard to put a full effort into the game, run up and down the cvourt when you are 7"1, 330 pounds.

Yeah when you weigh that much it is hard to be inspired to try hard. That is my guess. He likes to eat too much as well.

As I said before, despite all of that, he is still one of the ebst center of all time. he has 3 rings, has won Conference Finals in both conferences, has helped mold SG's into superstars, and has made each team he has played for into 50 win teams and gave them extra pushes to conference finals or Finals. You can say what if's about so many players. What if MJ wa sa better 3 point shooter? What if T-Mac had a healthy back? What if Kobe had stayed with Charolette?

Shaq is 7'0" and was always a really big kid...for how strong he was eating his way to 370 is not as much as you think.

Shaq delivers when it matters. Look at the finals numbers for the threepeat.

Especially for a man his size. He was also injured in the begining of the year. He dominates the game and may not be the best player ever to play but he's up there. Shaq turned 34 the other night, for a center that is OLD. But, he continues to play at an exceptional level. Maybe not as good as before but he still dominates which is what matters.

All i'm saying you idiots is, is that he could have been the best ever if he took the time to get in better shape and try hard in all games and with defense.

Shaq is probably the most dominate to ever play in the NBA. He is so big he can use his body and push people out of his way and slam it down for two and maybe try for one at the stripe. But he has horrible free throw shooting. Shaq should put more work into defense though. His injuries lately haven't helped him much lately anyways.

He just gets tired so easily because he is so big.

Re: Shaquille O'Neal: The Big Lazy

shaq is probably, yes, the most dominate center to ever play. no one can play him one on one. and most double teams will not work on him. at least when he was in his prime. teams have to make a play of fouling him just to stop him. that's how strong of a scorer/bigman he was.but anyway back to the topic.. do you understand that in the NBA you have to play a game every other night.. and in between those games you have to practice.. and then you still have your regular life.. these athletes have to do SO much. it's IMPOSSIBLE to be 100% every, single, game. your body is tired. maybe you can do that for the playoffs but that's it. the regular season is a lot of games and that's why the NBA teams either stress defense or offense, not always both.

Re: Shaquille O'Neal: The Big Lazy

No, anyone that scores 50 points per game one season or has a 100 point game is the most dominant. He was lke a giant out there, pretty good jumper and he was just such an offensive force. You can not even argue that he was the most dominate on both ends. If there was a stat on bpg he would probaby have about 5 for his career.
