Sharks re-sign Marleau and Pavelski. Marleau 4 yrs, $6.9 per year. Pavelski $4 mil per year. They also pretty much told Nabakov they don't want him back. So they are in need of a goalie, initially Tim Thomas and Tomas Vokoun had their names thrown around, but I think San Jose will probably go for a cheaper alternative... especially after tying up 11 million in cap space today.
Blame it on Joe. Dude only shows up October-April. I actually have a feeling that Marleau is going to be dealt in a deal for a goalie and maybe another forward coming back.
Wouldn't have minded seeing Marleau go and spending that money elsewhere. I hear that their plan is to sign a cheap veteran goalie then have him, Reiss, and whoever else is in the system battle it out.
