https://www.nba.com/blazers/news/shaedon-sharpe-injury-update-3 The Portland Trail Blazers today announced that guard Shaedon Sharpe sustained a volar avulsion fracture to his right fifth finger during Tuesday’s matchup at Charlotte. Sharpe’s return to play will be determined on a game-by-game basis, and he will be listed as questionable for Saturday’s game at Dallas. (just stolen from the twitter feed).
It's a fracture, but at the same time he's game to game? Seems like an odd injury. Not too concerned.
https://www.nationwidechildrens.org...er bends back, avulsion fracture (Picture 1).\ Says 1-2 weeks before getting back to activities, but this was on his shooting hand, so it may affect his shooting for sure.
Sucks that it's his shooting hand, but could be fixed without surgery with just a splint in a few weeks. AD had the same injury and missed 9 games and about 2-3 weeks in 2019.
Gordon Hayward had an avulsion fracture in his right pinky as well in a preseason game in 2020 and still played in their season opener 10 days later. Doesn't seem major depending on Sharpe's pain tolerance.
I'm a terrrible monotreme for thinking "Y'know what's Sharp(e)? Broken glass." But the thought entered, and thus must be shared.
It's my fault. When I saw his monster dunk a couple games back, I thought.....easy! Don't break a finger or something.......damnit!
He was reported to play nxt Tue at home vs Spurs at earliest. Sharpe's injury makes room for him to join the fun
