As I said in the other thread I wasn't sure to open this topic because I don't want to make it a big deal, but the same time after more than 10 games I'm starting to wonder if I'm the only one who see what i see... Like the title says there's ton of times in which I see Shaedon open in the corner or ready to catch an alley oop and more than one teammate just goes for the contested ISO... What is suspicious is that more than often is related to Hart and Simons, those who could potentially lose the starting spot in favor of Shaedon Am I reading it wrong or what? Maybe is Shaedon who stand a little too much in the corner without moving?
There are definitely more than the 3 shot opportunities he got tonight to get good to very good looks. What I'm worried about, is he will stop sprinting out to be wide open for an easy dunk because teammates aren't getting him the ball when he has a definite advantage.
I watched the game after it was over and after I had read the game thread. I looked for it and you guys are way off base about a conspiracy.
I think Shaedon needs to want the ball more. I think he's just worried about stepping on toes right now. There are times where he is passed up in the corner, for sure. But i think he needs to move to a location where he's in the sight lines of the passer more. I think his finger was an issue tonight as far as his aggressiveness to go to the hoop . He was messing with it after scoring the layup. Ant had blinders on tonight. Wasn't his best facilitating job this season. I thought Nas, who's been hot, should have been set up more as well.
On the one hand, I love that he's deferring to his older teammates. He recognizes that he has a lot to learn and is not some entitled brat. However, the danger is that he could be too passive. Is there a possibility he's another Wiggins - another Canadian with a combination of sweet shot and absurd athleticism who (large contract notwithstanding) never reached the stardom predicted for him? Yeah, I know - I need to get a life.
Sharp got more minutes than any other player off the bench. All players off the bench got 3 shots or less. Walker however got 4 free throws as well for 5 points and he picked up 4 rebounds. There were a couple times he was probably open for a look but i just cannot see him getting more opportunity than he is getting? IMO he's getting touches and he is getting minutes. On this team that is saying something.
Per 36, he's getting the *5th* most shots on the team. And of those 4 ahead of him, is Keon (who never met a shot he didn't like).
This is ridiculous. No one is freezing out Sharpe. These guys are professionals that are working together to win. Sharpe is a rookie. It just takes time for his teammates to trust him.
I would like to see that too, and that should come in time. But teammates have to realize when a player is on a heater. He was 5-6 and the only shot he got the rest of the night was a fast break attempt he took on his own that Poetl blocked. Good teammates will find the hot shooter.
He's a rookie getting shots and time. It's 14 games into the season. Give him some time to get comfortable asking for the shots and give some of the facilitator more time seeing his shots go in. It's coming!!!
