With two goals and an assist against Wycombe, maybe this is a sign of things to come for Shevchenko. For all the abuse and blame he has taken on behalf of Chelsea's wavering form, he has proved he has the potential to score and do well in the English League eventhough this was against a League 2 side.

It was unfair in the first place for him to be made the scapegoat of Chelsea's poor form. We can all see that is down to a lack of defenders and even attacking potency if the Liverpool game is anything to go by. I am surprised that Ballack has not taken any blame. Shevchenko has given nothing but 100% every match even if it was with little effect. Ballack on the other hand can be seen trotting around the centre circle uselessly half the time. I suppose the fact that Ballack was free means he gets away with it but I do not see why he should with that wage.

Maybe he was not signed with the consent of Mourinho but he is still a world class striker and I believe it is inevitable that he will start scoring soon in the league given the opportunity at full fitness now he has acclimatised to the fast pace of the English game after the languid style of the Italians.

I for one am desperate for Shevchenko to prove the impatient English media wrong and show us what a great player he is. What do you think?

I think they should loan him out to a league 1 side so he can be banging in goals against them like tonight. [IMG]

RandomButter, i totally agree with you. In fact i couldnt agree more.
I cant wait for a flurry of sheva goals, which will undoubtedly, shut all negative comments by the media right up. I dont want Chelsea to take him for granted. He is an awesome player. He will be scoring like Henry in no time...

Chelsea face Nottingham Forest next, so its another chance for him to bag some more goals and boast his confidence. [IMG]
