Dana White thinks so, and who wouldn't want to see Edgar vs Aldo?

I see no reason why he should move. Dude just beat Penn twice and became the first guy to beat Maynard. Why stop him while hes streaking? He says his advantages are speed and endurance from fighting at his natural weight so why take it away from him by making him move? He just KOed one of the biggest/strongest 155ers. Maybe if he loses multiple fights at 155 then it makes sense but I don't know why you would move him, especially if he prefers 155. Even if the logic is sound I wouldn't mess with his confidence. He likes 155, hes the champ, hes defended his title 3 times now. Leave him.

And isn't conventional wisdom that Aldo won't be able to continue to make 145 forever? I'd read that he looked pretty worn out from his weight cut prior to this fight and how many more 145ers are there for him to clear out? Seems like as long as they continue to win the more likely scenario is that Aldo decides to move up in which case he vacates the featherweight belt and gets an immediate shot against Edgar (or whoever is champ).

I think the trend of making all of these massive weight cuts to be the biggest/strongest isn't inherently the way to go. Guys like Cain Velasquez and Nick Diaz dominate because they can maintain a torrid pace and they never gas out. Cain is a short and often outweighed at HW. I'm not sure about Diaz but I don't think he cuts a ton of weight. For most guys I suppose the value in being bigger and stronger probably outweighs being undersized. But I think if you have a skillset or style that puts a premium on pace and you can get around the size and strength difference then why negate some of your strengths? Edgar can hang with bigger guys and if he can KO Maynard, a big fuggin LW who was undefeated, then I just can't justify encouraging him to move.

Nope. He's doing fine. Guys usually drop because they are losing due to a size or power disadvantage. Right now he is coping pretty well and seems to have lots of power of his own.

I'd like to see him drop just to fight Aldo and possibly become a dual champion but having him drop because 145 seems to fit him more naturally is kinda BS, the guy is ttearing up 155.

Its a pure bullshit move if he moves down weight while streaking like he is. Dana should STFU about where Edgar should be fighting. He's doing just fine at LW.
