I voted yes because even though hes been a huge dick this season, and acted horrible toward the fans and the organization, hes still the one who led us to the finals, and 6 or 7 consecutive apperences in the playoffs. Hes the one responsible for putting Nj Nets back on the map pretty much. And we should be grateful for that.

PS - i hope the mavs lose agaisnt the hornets which they will and he doesnt win a ring.
    I know im evil.

I feel the same way you do Claud. We may not think very highly of him right now for stabbing us in the back buy you can't deny what he has done for us.

I voted no, and I would like to ask you Nets fans to stop talking about Jason Kidd from now on. It's over, he's gone. Let it go. Why is every other discussion have Jason Kidd in it? Stop talking about him. It's over. He's gone. Let it go. He never won you guys a championship. If you say," well, he's the best player we ever had", then I say move on. Get a guy who can take you all the way. Talk about some other Nets player besides Kidd. I hope Jason Kidd's name never comes across the screen again.

seriously, the MFer told the world he wanted to be traded off your team. Quit sucking on his eggs. It's really sad. I can't believe you even brought up the idea of retiring his jersey after all that shit he talked about getting the hell out of NJ.

Im speechless. If you think i like Jkidd then you are terribly wrong. I dislike him. But at the same time i respect what hes done for us. And its very stupid of you to expect us (nets fans] not to talk about Jason kidd when he was just recently traded and currently getting destroyed in the playoffs. And why did you even vote if your not a nets fan? in case you havent noticed its a NETS FORUM not a lakers or clippers or whatever your team is, so if you dont like whats being said here, just keep it to yourself and keep it moving. Dont make a fool of yourself.

This shouldn't even be a thread. His jersey goes to the rafters the moment he retires, and that's the way it should be.

Here is a classic example of what is not acceptable on this site.

Yes this is the Nets forum, however, this is a large site and we strongly encourage fans of other teams and other sports to interact with each other.

    The poll speaks for itself.

Anyone who changes a franchise as much as this player did is a mortal lock to have his jersey retired.

Im sorry it wont happen again. But his post was very naive, and usually mods or people that run things around here are better diplomats. He just bashed all of us (nets fans) for posting about Jason Kidd. I thought it was rude and out of place.

What I like about ROTR's post is it gave me the vision of a future where a better player who isn't an asshole could one day lead the Nets to a championship and Jason Kidd will move down the list of "Greatest Nets Ever".

I will weep with joy if that happens.

How long has it been since the NBA has had a truly great player, one of the best in the game, that isn't an asshole?

It looks like Dwight Howard might become that. At least the NFL has Peyton.

Darn I was going to say Dwight Howard.

I think Hakeem was a pretty classy guy.

Please no one make me throw up by rushing to post Tim Duncan's name in here.
