I'm talking about the Detroit/Cleveland game 1 last night, were Detroit won by three. BUT! Cleveland had a chance to tie or take the lead on their last play with the clock around 7-8 seconds[I believe] James had a quick step on Prince and even though Sheed was coming over from the side, LeBron had a pretty easy layup IMO. But he dished it out to Donyell Marshall for the three and to try to win the game. Now, I don't question the fact we went for the win, but however I do question why James just didn't tie the game when he had such an easy layup and he could've very well got an and one on that play. Even though James shot 0/0 free throws, he still could've made something happen there. So the question is, should LeBron went for the tie or dish it out to Marshall for the win? IMO, You pretty much wanna go for the win on the road and steal game one of this series. All I can say is, if that was Damon Jones shooting instead of Marshall, Cleveland would be up 1-0 right now.

I'm not sure about this one. I mean sure Lebron could have easily made the layup but Detroit would have still gotten the ball back after the possession and there's no guarantee that Detroit wouldn't have scored in the final possession and still won the game. Also, Lebron probably thought that Marshall had a better chance of scoring and winning the game for them seeing as how he was wide open for the three but I guess Lady Luck wasn't on their side.

It looked to me like he had an open lay up or dunk. He was beating his man to the basket (his initial man to man defender did not have an angle to contest or block the shot), and Sheed was too late on help defense. I think Lebron could have scored in one form or another, easily....But Donyell was wide open...You can't really fault Lebron for that. The Pistons were playing better basketball at that point, and if it went to overtime, I bet you the Pistons would have won anyway. Lebron probably just wanted to wrap it up. Do or die.

I agree that he wanted to go for the win, I would've too. But I just don't get why Donyell Marshall was thrown in. He was 1-3 during the game before that shot, and just because he hit 6 3-pointers in game 6 against New Jersey, doesn't mean he is still gonna be hot. Why? Because he was terrible the whole season. Ugh, I just hope we go out and win game 2.

LeBron seemed like he was going to pass it the whole time. It seemed like he was so concentrated on passing the ball after drawing the extra defenders that he didn't know he had the path to score. I'm not going to bash LeBron for it, but I'm sure if he could do it over he'd finish the play himself.

I'll tell you why, LBJ has no killer instinct, he's not good when the game is in the clutch, he chokes, he's a choke artist right now, that's what separates him for the greats in the NBA. If you not gonna finish out a game for your team what kind of player are you? Come on, LeBron you get paid trillions and trillions to make shots like that, so LeBron start making them. Damn.

It's ridiculous how much LeBron gets hammered for this, it's like people have nothing better to do than hammer LeBron because he doesn't meet Kobe Bryant's standard.

I don't know why people go at him because he doesn't hit many game winners, but yet he is right up there with the best when it comes to taking over the 4th quarter. Enough with the clutchness, I know I'm sick of hearing about it.

Of course he should have taken the shot. It was wide open for an easy dunk or layup and the Pistons defenders were too late coming back and preventing the bucket. Even if it was Detroit ball with the game tied and five seconds on the clock, Billups would have been their first option to give the ball to, and Cleveland was irritating Billups all night.. I think he had six turnovers, and he didn't really take over in the 4th quarter like he usually does.

He made the right play. If he would have went up with it, he would have undoubtedly been fouled, and since the refs hadn't called a foul on LeBron all night despite him being obviously fouled on several plays, they sure as hell weren't gonna call it on possibly the last shot of the game.
