That's an average 3, not a big 3. I've said it before, we need a superstar. We don't have one. The only way to get one is via the draft.
I was looking at Simons' stats...has he improved like in any way since he's been in the league? His FG% and 3P% are trending down, his rebounding and assists are nothing to speak of, his TO's have increased. I admittedly haven't watched much, but whenever I do he just seems the same ol dude we drafted. I know it's trendy to pile on the dude right now, I am not trying to do that - has he improved besides just taking more shots? Anyways, to answer the question, yeah trade em. I thought that was obvious but maybe I’m outta the loop.
We can’t really trade Simons because nobody will take him. However, if you want to tank then you should be on team Simons, because he’s had a lot of responsibility for our losses the last two seasons.
At one point his rookie season he was ranked as the worst player of all time I believe... So he's improved from that.
We can talk all we want about trading them but not sure how we can do that and get much value back. All are notably overpaid for what they bring to the table. I think Grant is the most tradable as he could be a good 3rd wheel addition to a competing team. Ant, perhaps if someone wants a volume shooter who, at times, can light up the scoreboard. Ayton, don't see any reason why anyone would want him; huge paycheck, negligible impact.
Is Dame still considered a superstar? Sorry, not the least excited to go from the bad three & the minions to Dame & the minions. I'd rather just let the minions have full reign and see what they can do. Make our overpaid three bench players and while they may be overpaid for being bench players, I think as a team we might perform better. Ayton would still probably get a lot of minutes as I'm not sure DC is ready for huge minutes but I'd like to see him get notably more than he is now.
I'm okay with that. Ant is expiring at least... So maybe somebody likes that.... I'm good with keeping Ayton until Clingan gets his wind.
I’ve always thought the Pelicans (If they can stay healthy) would be interested in Ayton. They need a center and it sounds like they want to keep going all in.
yeah. Ayton is averaging 32 while Clingan under 13. That's coaching choices Nurkic averaged 18 as a rookie; Jokic averaged 22 as a rookie when he was 20; Embiid averaged 25; Valuciunas averaged 24; Brooke Lopez averaged 31 as a 20 year old rookie. I really doubt that Clingan is more out of shape, especially early in the season, than those other big guys. obviously, Clingan's average minutes could increase a lot as the season wears on, but for Ayton to be averaging 2.5 times as many minutes as a 7th pick is kind of an extreme contrast, especially considering that Clingan has been better that Ayton in PER, total reb rate, both off and def rebound rates, defensive rating, block rate, winshares/48, and BPM. Andre Drummond leads 'qualified' player in offensive rebound rate at 17.9%; Clingan's rate is 20.0%. Clingan would be leading the NBA in rebound rate if his minutes met the minimum. Now, it's legitimate to question if he'd still be so effective playing 24 minutes a night, but he might not drop off as much as expected.
I thought of the 3, Ant might have a future with the team. But I'm ready to move on. He's like CJ, when he's shot isn't falling, he doesn't contribute anything else. Scoot will have bad shooting nights, but I think he'll at least help set up other players.
