He could somewhat fill the woes the Lakers are having defensively at the guard position. Farmar and him could split time at the one. From what I've heard from Suns fans, he's not so great at facilitating the offense, which could be bad for a point guard in the triangle. But Odom could does it about half the time anyways, so it wouldn't be a big deal. Anyone think Cook + Smush for Banks would work?

Banks is a pretty bad offensive player, but like you said his defense is very very good. With Kobe and Odom though, I don't think Marcus would get many looks anyways. I'd like to see him run with that offense of Kobe and Odom.

I say trade Vlad Rad and Smush for Banks and Jumaine Jones. :dunno:

And why the hell would the Suns want Smush? The Suns need someone to run the offense when Nash sits out..

He's not bad on offense if he doesn't have to do a lot and it's not a pressure situation.

If Cook goes they have a someone that would fit in the system of run-gun style, he can shoot 3s. They will get a little more depth in the big man rotation. Cook and Smush are expirings too and can be good trade bait.

Smush at PG just doesn't make sense.

I definitely agree with CB4. If they are going to trade for Smush, they might as well keep Marcus Banks.

But I definitely do agree that LA should make another run at Marcus. They had him in the Gary Payton deal the first time around, but the deal had to be amended and Jumaine Jones was included instead of Marcus. As a Celtics fan, I was VERY happy with that... well, until Marcus didn't work out in Boston. But he'd be good for the Lakers. The Lakers don't necessarily need a top tier assist man in the triangle offense, but they do need defensive help at the PG position and Marcus is the right guy for that job. He may not be the best playmaker in the world, but hey, neither is Smush Parker. Banks' defense, speed, work ethic, and strength would be loved in LA. Not to mention, he's still young.

We don't want Smush. Banks is a better player and neither would be good for us. Smush only lasted 2 weeks with a weaker team than this. HELLZ NO to Lakersfan and I really wouldn't want that to Lakaboy. I like Jumaine and after James' performance today I think Jumaine will be our 8th man. We don't need to get any weaker on defense by getting VRad or Cook. Jumaine Jones can shoot and play better on the other side than either of them.

But it would most likely never happen.

I don't think so...I just don't like Vlad at all. The only thing he's better than Jumaine Jones at is shooting 3's and Jones will do fine at that in our offense. He's the better defensive player and that's what we need in an 8th man. I don't want a soft big man on the team. And how much are you guys paying Vlad? He might be a slightly better player than Jones but not at the price difference.

Dude, the Suns HAD Smush like 2 years ago and didn't show much interest in him. Maybe if you pay for Lamar Odom's salary we'll take him and ship you banks.
