If we win the National championship this year, then Mariota goes on and has a great year next year, I have a feeling he'll bolt for the NFL. Teams are going to be salivating for a guy with his skillset.
you really think the NFL would want someone with prototypical size, athleticism & composure who is completing 70% of his passes??? Don't you remember that one of our posters recently informed us that Bryan Bennett would have done about as well this year? The guy was only a 3* and the talking heads can't seem to pronounce his name STOMP
I'm hoping we get at least two more years with this kid. I don't expect him to stay for his senior year, but it would be nice to see him play as a junior. I think he'll put up some amazing numbers.
I was excited to see Bennett take the reigns this year, because I knew he'd give the Ducks a new dimension, a QB that can really run (something we've missed with Darron Thomas). I had no idea who Mariota was and was surprised to hear he won the job. But man, there is no comparison what so ever. The Ducks should convert Bennett to a WR or something, he's a horrible QB.
Bennett is an excellent athlete. I also agree they should find a place for him in the offense somewhere. Problem is... we already have excellent skill posistion players.
It would be smart cause Bennett can fly to the ball and he's got good hands... as a rover he'd be lethal!
