Gasol is 33 years old. I think it makes sense to move him while they can. (if Memphis struggles early) CJ is 26. So if we move him who is our SG? There is no one else unless this guy thinks we would be trading for a better one. That does not seem very likely or logical when we already lack shooters.
In my view you have to give the current team at least a year or two. If Nurk, ZCo, Biggie, Hark, Aminu can't cover for the defensive shortcomings of the guard, and it holds the team back, then you make the trade before Nurk, Biggie and ZCo hit their prime. Personally, I think that the current bigs just might be good enough to do it.

Yes, because we were the youngest team to make the playoffs the last two years, got almost five years younger at the starting center spot and just added a pair of 19/20 year old rookies to our rotation.
